Head of Finance Services (Strategy)

The Head of Finance plays a key role in the development and delivery of sound financial management within the Council.

The role, supporting the Executive Director - Finance and Corporate Resources, leads the delivery of Strategic Finance services for the council, providing sound financial support and advice across all council services. The Head of Finance (Strategy) leads on the development of the council budgets, and on management and financial accounting. You must have a proven track record of delivery of organisational budgets as well as leading and directing a team to deliver Finance service outcomes.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

• Establish sales goals, define and manage to success formulas, coach and educate business partners.
• Routinely assist on pre-call planning, client/prospect appointments and post-call debriefs to provide outstanding real-time coaching and feedback.
• Develop and implement sales strategies specific to assigned markets.
• Implement and maintain necessary systems infrastructure to support Wealth client facing associates including group email, telephone/call center, support case tracking and other technologies. Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive advantages, and vendor advancements.
• Provide leadership and direction to the Wealth Associates who provide day to day support to client facing associates. Leverage strengths and understand and identify gaps in performance. Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Needed to Perform Essential Functions of the Job

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or other related field of study.
• Minimum of 10 years Financial Services experience.
• Technically sound with demonstrated knowledge and understanding of servicing Wealth and investment management client needs, operational processes and key systems needed to support the Wealth client. Knowledge and understanding of key performance metrics.
• Relevant experience in managing sales and client service teams.
• Ability to achieve high level results while adhering to Enterprise Risk Management (ERM).

Key Role:

Lead the day-to-day financial operations of a Civil Sector business unit. Partner with account executives to develop annual and multi-year business plans and provide strategic input and leadership on decision-making issues. Contribute to the annual planning process and continue to incorporate innovative ideas and best practices. Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and current and predicted future trends. Lead and coordinate the activities of FP&A and Project Control Teams, including indirect rate management, labor performance, quarterly forecasting and EAC oversight, contract setup, managing the bottoms-up forecasting process, effectively developing strategies to identify and minimize financial risks in accordance with the firm’s ERM process, identifying and developing strategies to maximize account and firms financial KPIs, and support ongoing talent management by actively managing staff development. Basic Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience with leadership in the accounting and finance function of a high-performing professional services provider

• 7+ years of experience in a financial services organization with knowledge of banking products, services, pricing, and profitability.
• Required: SIE Exam, Series 6, Series 63, Life & Health licenses (if licenses not currently held, required within six months of role start date).
• Advanced understanding of deposit, loan (including mortgage) and banking products and practices, cash flow analysis, lending process and directives, credit risk policies and standards, supporting processes, applicable legal and regulatory requirements, and Bank policies.
• Excellent understanding of brokerage and insurance products.
• Excellent knowledge of business services, including retirement plans, business banking solutions, insurance, and succession planning – required.
• Excellent understanding of personal trust and investment management – required.
• In-depth knowledge of client portfolio management.
• Technical proficiency gained through education and/or business experience.

 Please note the target base salary range for this specific position in XXXX, CA is $70,000 - $110,000.

U.S. Only: This position will act as an originator of consumer loans as defined by Regulation Z, Regulation G, and the Secure and Fair Enforcement for Mortgage Licensing Act (the S.A.F.E. Act). This position will require a Federal registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry. The Bank will instruct you on the registration requirements needed to comply with this requirement. A criminal background review and credit history evaluation will be required for this position as well as restrictions on performing in a real estate agent capacity.

Compensation and Benefits:

The base salary represents BMO Financial Group’s hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked.
