Our Neurosurgery Theatres Leadership Team has an exciting opportunity for a Band 6 Neuro Angiography Senior Theatre Practitioner. You will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in the management of the newly expanded 24/7 stroke service and the Neuro Angiography practitioners as well as the Neuro theatre suites. In addition, you are responsible for ensuring high standards of patient care are maintained, acting as a credible role model to colleagues, and patient advocate at all times using the NMC / HCPC Professional Code of Conduct as the framework for your professional practice.
We currently run four Operating Theatres Monday to Friday, with additional activity in the two Neuro angiography suites for neuro interventional radiolgy and we also support 24-hour Neuro Emergency patient pathways. We cover both adult and paediatric neurosurgery. In the following months, our stroke services will be expanded to include a 24-hour service.

You will be supporting the team to review and evolve clinical practices and pathways of care. The post holder will have a pivotal role within the neuro service, working collaboratively with their Team leader, their Band 6 Colleagues, Matron, Neurosurgery and Neuro Anaesthetic Clinical Leads.
What we’re looking for
We are seeking candidates with extensive experience in Neurosurgery as a theatre practitioner as well as Neuro Interventional Radiology although this is desirable, not essential. Proven people management skills are also required. You must be dynamic, forward-thinking, and demonstrate solid, innovative leadership styles and skills in an environment that is constantly changing. In addition to a can-do attitude, it is essential to possess outstanding communication, decision-making, and motivational skills. You will be required to demonstrate ongoing professional development, a strong commitment to developing others, and an in-depth understanding of how to enhance and provide safe, high-quality care to patients and their families. Possibilities within the position to assume the role of Lead Practitioner. The successful applicant will be required to cover all shift patterns (Early, Late, and Night Shifts) as well as ad hoc on-calls, if necessary. In addition, the successful candidate will receive additional training to scrub Neurosurgery and Neuro Angiography cases once the 24/7 stroke service is established.
