Your new company is a lovely not for profit based in Sheffield. They are seeking to recruit a finance executive as a key part of their team, working directly with the head of finance and overseeing a great finance apprentice.

Your new role

The Finance Executive role involves ensuring accurate processing and reconciliation of all income, including cash, cheques, and online donations, into the fundraising CRM and accounts package. This includes coding donations correctly, supporting timely banking of funds, and coordinating gift aid submissions. The role also involves raising and managing invoices, chasing outstanding debts, and handling legacy income. For expenditure, the Finance Executive ensures purchase invoices and credit card expenses are processed accurately, assists with expense queries, prepares payment runs, and reconciles creditor accounts. They also manage bank reconciliations, handle non-income and non-creditor payments, and support investment management. Additionally, the role supports the production of month-end and year-end accounts, manages accruals and prepayments, and updates grant expenditure. The Finance Executive also reviews budget lines, supports fundraising events, and handles ad hoc tasks as needed.

What you'll need to succeed

• AAT qualified
• Experience in an equivalent finance position, ideally overseeing a small team
• Taking accounts to trail balance

Your new role
The Senior Finance Business Partner - Operations will lead the Financial Performance Management process within operations, ensuring appropriate business analysis is provided to identify opportunities, risks and trends, along with analysis to ensure that operational decisions are supported by comprehensive financial analysis to influence the operational business to deliver against its strategic objectives.Key duties will be varied and include:- Partner with the Operations Leadership team to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of all operational spending, raising challenges and driving course correction, based on financial and commercial information.* Be an active member of the operational leadership team, ensuring your opinions are heard using functional and leadership knowledge to influence decision-making in areas of financial impact.* Provide financial input and challenge into project work including capital and Continuous Improvement projects, improvement in operational reporting, business analysis, system changes.-Lead the Budget and Forecasting process within operations, including the development of the 5-year plan.* Provide sound financial guidance to budget holders to support the development of Operational Business Plans (5YP, Budget, quarterly forecasts) that underpin strategic goals.* Identify the operational KPIs which underpin the successful plan delivery and ensure the alignment with the financial objectives.What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience in a similar role
• The ability to adhere to deadlines and adopt a challenging approach to deliver robust, accurate financial data and information to meet business needs.
• Experience in the analysis of complex financial information using financial modelling tools.
• Sound judgement and ability to make evidence-based recommendations.
• The ability to cut through ambiguity to provide insight.
• The ability to develop alternative scenarios for financial/commercial issues.
• Demonstrable knowledge and use of an ERP
• Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and transfer it into meaningful financial information for use in business decision-making is required.
• Confident, self-motivated, and resilient, able to proactively identify issues and drive delivery of solutions. Thrives in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong collaboration and business partnering skills, especially in cross-functional contexts

The organisation is a large, complex organisation that delivers vital services to the people of Sheffield and the surrounding areas.
Your new role
You\'ll be joining the organisation providing key leadership functionality alongside 3 other senior finance managers, reporting to the Head of Finance. As part of your remit, you\'ll take on line management responsibility of 4 direct members of staff as well as c.20 indirect, providing and presenting key financial information to various key stakeholders and \'Heads of\'/Directors within the organisation. Alongside your team, you will produce monthly management accounting and forecasting, communicating financial performance effectively to both internal and external stakeholders and developing and enhancing reporting processes, providing a comprehensive wide-ranging financial support service to staff across the organisation. As part of this, you will be offering sound guidance to departments on ways of maximising resources by developing a detailed understanding of service budgets, whilst maintaining and improving the internal control environment
What you\'ll need to succeed
This is a key appointment for the organisation, and as such, you will be required to have the following skills/background/attributes to be eligible to be represented for the position:
* Fully qualified accountant * Prior public sector accounting background, ideally within a similarly complex organisation structure (such as large public services organisations, councils, NHS etc.)
* Excellent communication and presentation skills * Strong coordination skills
* Strong people management skills, having managed teams of similar sizes previously
