Salary: £58,630 - £68,098 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

SSEN Transmission has a great opportunity for an experienced and data-focused Senior Asset Risk and Investment Engineer to play an important role in the delivery of a safe, secure and reliable transmission network in Scotland. This role requires the post-holder to utilise risk-based models and business cases to optimise and justify engineering investments in our network with considerations to the safety, environmental sustainability and commercial operation of the business.
Key duties include but are not limited to:
- Deliver investment whole life modelling and business cases, factoring in asset condition, network risk and operational safety.
- Monitor the delivery of network investments and undertake Post Investment Appraisals to optimise future decisions.
- Utilise Asset Management data tools such as CBRM, Maximo, ArcGIS to analyse assets.
- Participate in regulatory engagement such as reporting to Ofgem and ensuring investment in the network is compliant with statutory, regulatory and licence requirements.
- Develop risk-based investment plans by delivering a rolling 5-10 year forecast aligned to outage plans, asset condition and whole system development.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
- Advanced understanding and significant experience in managing asset risk and investment models for physical assets.
- High level of technical competency in carrying out investment appraisals, cost benefit analysis, economic modelling and data analysis.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential, as are well developed stakeholder management skills, and a track record of delivery against time-sensitive deadlines.
- You will be educated to degree level or have equivalent experience in electrical engineering, business or finance degree relevant to the job.
- It is highly desirable you will hold an Institute of Asset Management qualification, have Chartership status and experience of ISO 55000.
