Clinical:

The post holder will take part in a full shift rota, along with other trainees, which provides 24 hour care for patients including weekends and night shifts. This includes
• Immediate responsibility for care of up to 22 critical care patients
• Responsible for the admission and discharge of patients
• Liaising with other departments and specialties as appropriate
• Maintaining inpatient records
• Ordering routine and emergency investigations, and receiving and reviewing their results
• Managing routine and unexpected problems on the critical care unit as they arise
• Reviewing and admitting new admissions and referrals from both the emergency department and wards
• Transfer of patient to radiology etc. as appropriate
• Compliance with Trust and departmental protocols and guidelines

As the post holder will be responsible for the assessment and management of critically ill patients with indirect supervision, significant prior experience in intensive care medicine is essential including advanced airway skills and excellent written and spoken English. This post will include care of patients with suspected and conformed coronavirus.

Administrative:
• Candidates must possess full GMC registration with a license to practise at time of application

Research:
• There are no specific research duties in this post, however there may be opportunities to take part in ongoing clinical trials.

Teaching:
• The department has a strong teaching commitment to junior doctors.
• There is both formal and informal training as well as educational supervision and guidance for the postholders provided in each attachment.
• Formal study-leave to attend relevant regional and national courses, (allocation the same as regional trainees) with reimbursement of expenses (according to Trust policy and up to the annual leave limit) also provided.
• A number of educational sessions are provided, there is also access to the departmental, Trust and regional teaching and courses, such as preparation for FRCA and FFICM examinations. Critical Care units run weekly formal teaching as well as journal clubs, exam practise, self-directed learning and practical procedure teaching. I am mum to a young man with a learning disability. He is extremely anxious so we are looking for a kind, caring PA to support him to access leisure activities in the community. Breast Unit Assistant Practitioner in Mammography

The Breast Unit has a vacancy for an Assistant Practitioner in Mammography to join our team. For candidates who do not currently hold a Mammography qualification, training may be considered. Under these circumstances salary will be paid at a lower rate to reflect the training status and will remain until successful completion of qualification and preceptorship.

This post holder will perform mammography working in both the Symptomatic Breast service and the National Breast Screening Programme. They will be expected to independently travel to and work across all sites, including in the community to deliver the service as required.

Duties are varied and include but are not limited to; deliver a high standard of patient care, deliver high standards of mammography under supervision of a radiographer and participate in self assessment of image quality, work within equipment QA and work on mobiles supporting the Radiographers to ensure a safe working environment for both staff and patients.
