As a Data Analytics Intern (Finance), you will be part of a regional function working to support the finance department in Funding Societies. The role requires using a mix of skills including analysis, effective communication, creative problem solving, project management, and cross-functional collaboration to solve complex finance related business problems.

What you will do:

• Data Warehousing: Performing daily data operations tasks, such as pipeline checking, backfilling data, root cause analysis. 
• Automation: Build automation for some finance data alerts & checkers
• Dashboard: Assist dashboard operational tasks includes checking refresh schedules and updating 
• Operational: Support ad-hoc projects or duties and document the finance data glossary  assigned from time to time

CIBC’s Commercial Real Estate team is seeking a highly motivated intern for the 2024 summer with an interest in pursuing a career in commercial real estate or commercial banking. This position will work closely with all team members including relationship managers, asset managers, and other functional areas on a range of projects to support CIBC Bank USA’s multi-billion dollar national portfolio of commercial real estate loans. The intern will gain hands-on experience in the Commercial Real Estate lending business through exposure to a wide range of team members and projects, and the opportunity to work on live deals alongside experienced Commercial Real Estate Lenders. 

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support various projects for the Commercial Real Estate Lending group.
• Assist in underwriting of live transactions. This may include market research, completing comparable transaction analyses, and Sponsor due diligence. 
• Preparation of internal memos and approval documents alongside relationship managers. 
• Perform market research and financial research regarding real estate transactions, supply, demand, and market trends. 
• Assist with collecting and organizing various data to support portfolio-wide analyses.
