As a Band 7 CNS in Nutrition, you will be responsible for providing expert advice, management, and care to patients with complex nutritional needs, including nasogastric tube (NGT) insertions, managing and troubleshooting blocked percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG) tubes, delivering comprehensive training and supporting the clinical teams to provide the best nutrition for all our patients.

We are seeking a qualified, conscientious, and highly motivated professional to join the Paediatric Service at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospital.

This role offers an excellent opportunity for a senior nurse to take a leading role in advancing the care of patients transitioning from paediatric to adult services. As a newly created position, there is significant potential to shape and develop the provision of care for this patient group.

We are looking for Consultant Radiologist. The successful candidate will undertake one stop clinics, general/mammography reporting and breast MRI reporting all with cross cover. They will also be expected to perform stereotactic biopsies and pre-operative localisations and image guided excision procedures (VAB). Are you enthusiastic and passionate about working with people in a fast-paced, acute care setting? Are you confident in your clinical skills, complex cases & discharge planning?

We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic inpatient therapy team at Watford General Hospital.

We are welcoming applications to our Band 7 post in the Orthopaedics and Surgery team for a fixed term contract of 12 months.

The working hours are 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and forms part of a 7-day working rota, including a weekend shift approximately once every six weeks. Rest days will be allocated in the week following.

This post is based on acute hospital wards and NHS experience is essential.

The role would involve utilising evidenced based clinical skills to support patients as well as supporting junior members of the team with complex cases.

You will clinically manage a caseload, completing detailed assessment & treatments in Orthopaedic and Surgical specialities.

The clinical areas include:
• Trauma & Orthopaedics – working with the MDT to facilitate an ‘enablement approach’ to rehabilitation and supported discharge of trauma orthopaedic patients. This can include # NOF patients, head injuries and spinal cord injuries.
• Surgical – working across surgical wards in the acute hospital to provide assessment and intervention to patients following acute surgery, including new amputees.
• Elective enhanced recovery care - providing OT support to the new Herts and West Essex Surgical Centre due to open in Spring 2025. This service is based at St Albans City Hospital, but it is envisioned that most of the input will be provided virtually from the Watford site to aid in pre-assessment of elective care patients. There may be occasions where travel to St Albans might be necessary for meetings.

Discharge planning skills are key to this post, and you will need to be able to make timely decisions regarding transfer to community services and managing referrals to specialist units.

You will be supported with your personal development by the Therapy Team Leads and we will have opportunities for peer-led learning and training.

Are you a therapy assistant that would like a new challenge? This vacancy has arisen within our well-established Inpatient Therapy Service at Watford General Hospital.

This is a fixed-term, full-time role for 12 months, working 37.5 hours per week.

This post would be suitable for an individual with a particular interest in assisting patients to become as independent as possible. The role would also include supporting our qualified members of staff to deliver complex treatments to dependent patients who have had Orthopaedic surgery.

The successful candidate needs to have previous NHS experience, ideally in an acute setting. Previous therapy assistant experience would also be preferable.

The role will involve carrying out prescribed treatments, with some responsibility to progress patients within set limits, and providing feedback to the qualified team members.

There will be admin roles associated with this post, including electronic patient notes and equipment stock takes and ordering.

This post does not include any evening/overnight responsibilities but the successful post holder would have a responsibility in participating in the weekend and Bank Holiday seven day working rotas as required, that operates on both the Watford General Hospital and St Albans City Hospital sites.

The caseload can be challenging and good communication and interpersonal skills, as well as a tactful approach, are pre-requisites in working effectively within this post.

The successful post holder will be supported by a team of experienced staff and offers a potential candidate the ideal opportunity to gain a wealth of experience within our dedicated and friendly acute Inpatient therapy service.

Regular supervision will be provided, and we have a training programme that we run for our support worker staff to aid your personal development.
