Job Purpose
The job purpose of the Finance and Operations Analyst role is to provide support to the Head of Finance and the Head of Operations in the daily operations. Undertake designated activities within the departments to ensure service standards are achieved and risks managed.
The Finance duties include, but are not limited to, accounting and reporting, expense controls, budgeting, and forecasting. As for the Operations duties, the role will be responsible for a range of data administration and reconciliation, control/monitoring services, and duties to ensure the timely delivery of quality service to clients and other Bank ABC units and departments.
This is a contract role with the possibility to convert to permanent position
Principal Responsibilities, Accountabilities and Deliverables of Role
Finance
· Perform internal and accounting controls to ensure accuracy of entries and general ledger (GL) balances.
· Prepare and submit MAS returns and Department of Statistic surveys.
· Compute and monitor regulatory financial compliance ratios and requirements.
· Review monthly P&L & BS EDW, MVR (Power BI)
· Prepare monthly and quarterly Head Office reporting.
· Compile and review performance (by client / segment profitability).
· Assist HOD in the forecast and budget process.
· Process payment of OPEX/CAPEX (excluding payroll).
· Maintain Fixed assets register, prepaid expense, and amortization schedules.
· Liaise with external auditor as require.
· Ensure all financial files and records are complete and appropriately filed for ease of future reference and for audit purposes taking into consideration all relevant internal and external regulations.
Operations
· Primary person to support Head of Operations to respond to client instructions, internal stakeholders and Bahrain processing team for transactions relating to trade finance, bilateral and syndicated loans, remittances, and deposits.
· As directed, support/undertake the timely and accurate delivery of all requested tasks and initiatives as part of the daily operational work assigned by the HOD.
· Ensure customer satisfaction and provide professional customer support.
· Assist in the preparation of reports and escalating irregularities.
· Identify and suggest improvements to new and existing processes / procedures / systems and the way in which the team operates to improve service quality and process efficiency.
Job Requirements
Knowledge
· Accounting knowledge and preferably with 2 – 3 years of experience in the banking sector
· Skill in Excel Pivot table and Power Point is required.
· Knowledge in Bilateral Loan, Syndication Loan and Treasury settlement is an advantage.
· Oral Communication: Uses effective telephone manner with customer/colleagues.
· Written Communication: Produces written responses to enquiries using appropriate wording. Produces clear and accurate written material.
· Self / Work Organization: Knows how to prioritize tasks and diarize effectively to achieve deadlines.
Education / Certifications
· University Degree in Banking and Finance
Experience
· Minimum 1 -3 years’ experience in Trade Finance operations
