How you’ll make a difference
We are recruiting a Senior Manager, to provide Data Governance leadership in line with TSBs multi-year Data Strategy Programme, focussed on maturing the bank’s Data Capabilities, transforming TSB into a truly Data-Driven organisation. The successful candidate will lead a team to manage, control and embed the Data Quality, Governance & Control frameworks across TSB, ensuring data standards are met, and policies are adhered to across the various enterprise domains within the organisation. Additional responsibilities will include reporting performance to internal and external stakeholders at all levels, including provision of regular progress updates to the TSB Executive Data Council, and liaison with UK & EU Banking Regulators such as Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), Prudential Regulation Authority (PRA), Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) and European Central Bank (ECB).
The Senior Manager will also lead and coach a team of Data Managers and Analysts to apply the most appropriate agile and lean tools and techniques for Data Governance, whilst fostering a culture of accountability, trust and continuous learning, empowering colleagues to take full ownership of their role and responsibilities.
What you’ll bring
- Strategic leadership, implementing a comprehensive data governance framework in alignment with TSB Data & Business Strategies and Regulatory expectations.
- Expertise in assisting Senior Leaders and associated departments across the organisation to effectively utilise Customer, Product and Reference Data to make key business decisions.
- Experience in establishing and promoting awareness of data governance policies, standards, and procedures, including compliance with data-related regulations and guidelines from the FCA, PRA, ICO, ECB, and other relevant bodies.
- Oversight for data quality and controls initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, timeliness and reliability of data across the bank.
- Experience in implementing data stewardship, enterprise domain and data ownership models and data-by-design frameworks.
- People Management & Leadership skills to lead the TSB Data Governance team, providing guidance, mentoring, performance management, opportunities for training and development, whilst fostering a collaborative and innovative team working environment.
- Experience in implementing best practices in Data Management, referencing frameworks such as DCAM, DAMA and TOGAF as defined by industry bodies.
- Deep knowledge and understanding Data Management tools and technologies.
- Excellent communication skills, with proven ability to effectively communicate ideas, proposals, issues and implications to all levels of seniority including the TSB board.
- Strong track record of managing key 3rd party suppliers ensuring value from the relationship through strong negotiation and great performance through rigorous KPI oversight.
