The main responsibilities of this post are: To assist the Lead Chaplains in providing a high quality of spiritual, pastoral and religious care in the context of multi-faith society, irrespective of denomination, faith or philosophy of life. To assist the Lead Chaplains in ensuring the provision of opportunity for personal spiritual expression and exploration. To assist in ensuring the provision of opportunity for personal and communal worship, religious expression, rituals and sacraments appropriate to the faith and practices of patients within an Acute Health Care setting. To work collaboratively within the Chaplaincy Team to develop innovative practices that better meet the spiritual health care needs of patients, staff and carers. To work systemically with staff and management to ensure that spirituality is an integral element within the care of all patients. To assist in the development of robust communication and recording systems across the Trust that will enhance evidence-based working practices of the Chaplaincy Team. To work in partnership with staff at RBH to share best practice and improve service provision. To provide confidential support for RBH staff who are experiencing stress in personal or work related issues as appropriate where this interfaces with Spiritual Care responsibilities. To assist in developing a Spiritual Care resource for RBH, giving advice and supporting initiatives and developments across the Trust. To undertake RBH contract and baby funerals when required. To assist and be proactively involved in NHS structures and quality issues; provide appropriate standards of service. To assist in the development of educational programmes/workshops and offer coaching and mentoring of staff and volunteers. To undertake a share in the administrative duties necessary to support the running of a busy 24-7 department and maintain accurate evidence based records. To assist within the Chaplaincy Team as an advocate for the advancement of Spiritual Care within the Trust, by developing networking structures, attending meetings and MDTs across departments. To assist in supporting links with local faith and community groups. To assist in the development of links with community based voluntary agencies to ensure consideration and understanding of the work of the Chaplaincy department in relation to patient contact and Spiritual Health Care issues. To ensure that there is an adherence to a Code of Professional practice such as laid down by the College of Health Care Chaplains. To participate fully in Staff Appraisal and training in line with Trust protocols. To be part of the on-call rota, providing support to patients out of hours. Who we're looking for Qualified Theatre Practitioner NMC or HCPC registered with no restrictions on your pin. Scrub or Anaesthetic experience would be highly desirable. Have been employed in a surgical/Theatre setting. You will be highly motivated and used to working in challenging but rewarding environment.
