At the full performance level, major duties include:

• Performs economic analysis of the financial services industry, the financial markets, real estate markets, FDIC-insured commercial banks and thrifts, as well as national, international, and regional economic developments.
• Plans, performs and provides complex financial and economic analyses related to identifying existing and emerging aggregate risks to the Corporation's deposit insurance fund.
• Perform economic analysis for incorporation into studies, policy decisions, executive briefings, and testimony.
• Design and use financial and data analysis models.
• Conduct continuous reviews of economic, banking, and financial and related matters to keep abreast of current developments in those areas.
• Participate in the design, production, and administration of FDIC publications to disseminate analysis to supervisory personnel, senior management of the Corporation, other regulators, the industry, and the public.
• Attend meetings with Corporation officials, representatives of other federal and state regulatory agencies, and representatives of financial institutions and private industry.

• Serves as the principal OO liaison to RMS and DCP management and staff in the assigned region for regulatory issues brought forward by the industry.
• Serves as an expert liaison with other Divisions and Offices in the assigned region involved in matters brought to the attention of the OO.
• Builds external relationships by promoting customer service and public relations within the region through responsive, professional and timely program stewardship that enhances the image of the Corporation.
• Meets with insured depository institution officials and/or boards of directors, FDIC and other federal and state government regulators to discuss and resolve complaints brought to the attention of the OO.
• Performs and/or coordinates the investigation of complaints; reviews supervisory materials for the resolution of complex or sensitive inquiries and complaints relating to FDIC regulatory activities.
• Develops extensive outreach programs to be presented to the industry, including bank commissioners and trade associations.

• Identifies complex legal issues that are related to depository institutions and within the Unit's responsibilities, and supervises the conduct of legal research of these issues.
• Confers with and advises senior management with regard to legal matters in areas of responsibility. Independently interprets and applies applicable statutory and regulatory guidelines.
• Coordinates the negotiation and consummation of sales, settlements, workouts, and restructurings that arise out of the liquidation of failed Insured Depository Institutions (IDI).
• Oversees the preparation of memoranda of law and other instruments related to the management and resolution of receiverships, such as marketing of failing and failed IDI, claims, settlements, employee benefit plans, and receivership termination.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management authority directly or indirectly through subordinate senior managers to include, but not limited to, assigning and reviewing work, assessing employee performance, providing counseling and coaching as necessary, and reviewing and approving leave, training and travel requests.
