DESCRIPTION
This position provides auto claims service to customers using multiple communication channels. Within defined guidelines and framework, responsible for investigating, evaluating, negotiating and adjusting simple to moderately complex auto injury claims presented by or against a policyholder. The role will include confirming coverage, determining liability, evaluating injuries and equitably settling claims in compliance with all state and regulatory requirements. Works under minimal supervision to perform work assignments and problem resolution. Accountable for delivering a high level of service in every interaction through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice and empathy. This role will also provide the opportunity to utilize leadership and conflict management skills as you guide the customer through the claims and repair process.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provides claims service via internal channels (phone/fax/email/mail) to policy holders and third-party customers on behalf of clients.
- Adjust soft tissue, moderately complex Bodily Injury claims, PIP/Med Pay, UM/UIM and Personal Liability claims as well as all auto physical damage associated with those claims.
- Identify, confirm, and make coverage decisions on soft tissue to moderately complex claims.
- Investigate loss details, determine legal liability, evaluate, negotiate, and resolve claims within appropriate authority guidelines.
- Clearly document thought process, investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement decisions.
- Prioritize and manage assigned claims workload to keep policyholders and other involved parties informed and provide timely claims status updates.
- Collaborate and support team members to resolve issues and identify appropriate matters for escalation.
- May act as an informal resource for team members with less experience.
- Acquires and applies basic knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance industry products, services, and processes to include P&C insurance policy contracts and coverages and the claim handling process and procedures.
- Ability to maintain discretion in business relationships and exercise sound business judgement
- Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe operations as needed.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- High School Diploma or GED
- 5+ years of auto casualty adjusting experience
- 3+ years of bodily injury claims adjusting (non repd & attny repd- moderate/severe)
- Medicare/Medicaid experience
- Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license
- Working knowledge and understanding of the auto claims contract as well as application of case law, state laws and regulations.
- Computer literate in a Windows operating environment.
- Strong customer service, phone, written communication & organizational skills.
- Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and easily acclimates to changes in process/systems for overall improvement of the organization.
- Must be accurate and detail oriented.
- Ability to learn new technologies.
- Ability to work independantly
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, such as Outlook, Excel, Word and Teams.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree
- Insurance designation
- 5+ years of claims adjusting
- Guidewire Claim System expereince
- Fluent in English and Spanish: speak, read and write

Pay: $56,160 – $83,200 ($27.00 - $40.00 per hour)
