The Infrastructure Section designs, and/or reviews the designs of others, for sustainment and modifications of Real Property and Real Property Installed Equipment (RP/RPIE) and ICBM Infrastructure and Equipment (IIE) that directly supports the ICBM Launch Facilities, Missile Alert Facilities/Launch Control Centers, and Test Launch Facilities at Malmstrom AFB, MT, Minot AFB, ND, FE Warren AFB, WY and Vandenberg SFB, CA. The Infrastructure team also provides technical data and maintenance procedures for field level and depot level maintainers from missile maintenance groups, civil engineer squadrons, and depot field teams.
DUTIES:
- Serve as first-line supervisor performing the following tasks: typical personnel management tasks, assign and manage work within the Branch, organize and conduct training; acquire necessary resources to accomplish the mission; and provide feedback and evaluations for assigned employees.
- Contribute to current and future ICBM infrastructure policy and guidance development.
- Perform engineering duties, implement digital engineering concepts, integrate efforts with multiple System Program Offices, Depot Field Teams, MAJCOM and installation level leadership and maintenance personnel, and provide technical expertise in support of the MMIII electrical section.
- Manage engineering workload for assigned area of responsibility, reviews, and allocates tasks across team members, direct technical evaluations, and lead reviews of technical documentation for electrical section.
- Mentor, lead, guide, direct engineers, logisticians and equipment specialists within the electrical section on technical issues; assure that assigned employees work as a cohesive team; and provide employees with opportunities that foster professional career development.
SKILLS: - At least five years of relevant engineering experience is typically preferred to perform the role of supervisory engineer.
- Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desired, but not required.
- Knowledge of professional engineering principals, logistics program management, managerial support initiatives, acquisition policy and procedures, planning, programming and budgeting systems, contracting procedures and Air Force resource allocation procedures is highly desired.
- Ability to analyze, plan and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program objectives and requirements within available resources is valued.
- Experience in electrical/electronics engineering, mechanical/materials engineering, configuration management, and/or systems engineering is preferred.
