Main Responsibilities

The Research & System Development Engineer will be provided with a framework around which the project activities are expected to focus. These activities will include:

Essential to have experience in IOS and Android app development
Generate specifications to integrate video
Continue to build and program an existing app
Production of a final report that sets out a roadmap for the app
While completing this work the Research & System Development Engineer will report to the company/business supervisor on a weekly basis and be provided with regular support from the Academic Knowledge Exchange Lead.

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust (MSE) are seeking IT Desktop Refresh Engineers to join our End User Equipment Refresh team, which is made up of 9-12 located across all hospital sites at MSE with the main objective of replacing all end user equipment identified for replacement in a given financial year.

The MSE digital estate is an enterprise environment both in scale and complexity and requires an experienced engineer with clear leadership and direction from their team lead to navigate the technical and organisational challenges they will face in the role.

The End User estate is made up of tens of thousands of different asset types including but not limited to iPods, iPads, Desktop PCs, Laptops, Monitors, TVs, AV Equipment, Unified Comms handsets and peripherals. This equipment is used every day to support essential clinical and non-clinical activity and therefore the provisioning and replacement of equipment must be done at a prearranged and mutually convenient time and to a high technical standard with post upgrade support to ensure hospital operations are not adversely impacted by the equipment refresh programme.

If successful you will be expected to work across all three sites, Basildon, Broomfield and Southend Hospitals, so having access to a vehicle and a clean driving license would be advantageous.

End User Equipment Refresh Engineers are responsible for the provision of expert advice across a range of information technology areas such as application, training and hardware support.

Using a recognised IT Service Management system, support training and advice is delivered in accordance with the Trusts published service level agreements, information policies and good practice.

About Us

Imerys British Lithium (IBL) is a joint venture between Imerys S.A. and Lithium Assets Ltd., formerly British Lithium, developing a world class micaceous lithium resource in Cornwall. IBL have developed unique, patented technology for the sustainable recovery of battery grade lithium carbonate from micaceous granite, with the goal of building the world’s first integrated lithium mine, beneficiation plant and refinery producing 20,000tpa of lithium carbonate – enough to support production in the UK of 350,000 electric vehicles per year.

Imerys British Lithium operates a state-of-the-art pilot plant, built to develop our unique LiMica-Sep™ and Li-Sep™ technologies for the sustainable extraction of lithium from micaceous granite. Capabilities at the facility involve a wide range of process technologies, such as mineral beneficiation, pyrometallurgy, hydrometallurgy, precipitation, crystallisation, and ion exchange, at both the laboratory and industrial scales.

The competitive landscape is highly dynamic and so speed is essential for us to enter the market. This role is instrumental in the delivery of the plan to develop a full-scale integrated open-pit mine, concentrator and refinery to produce battery-grade lithium for the growing electric vehicle industry in the UK and Europe. Validation of the process technology is underway, however significant capital expenditure decisions are being made, such as the design of the 2 Mtpa / 20 ktpa commercial scale plant with very challenging schedules. This role therefore carries a significant responsibility of technical de-risking and cost optimisation. This requires a team of metallurgists and engineers with a high level of technical expertise. This furthermore requires well developed communication skills with a keen understanding of business priorities and stakeholder needs, and concern for impact.

• As a Senior Site Reliability engineer for Monitoring and Observability, you will be part of the Technology Engineering team within CIO supporting the definition, maintenance and implementation of SRE strategies and principles around Monitoring and Observability for Hastings.
• Support the definition, maintenance and implementation of SRE strategies including observability and event management.
• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable and reliable monitoring and observability solutions for the IT infrastructure and applications, using various technologies and platforms.
• Designing, building and maintaining scalable and reliable event management capabilities to drive auto-healing in support of better performance and stability.
• Supporting the ongoing evaluation of new capabilities in the monitoring technology stack, conducting proof of concepts, pilots, and tests to validate their suitability.
• Providing leadership to the monitoring and observability team with clear priorities ensuring agreed outcomes are achieved in a timely manner.

Skills we would love you to have

• Expert knowledge and skills in various monitoring and observability technologies and platforms, especially Dynatrace and Azure Monitor.
• Be able to adapt to new technologies quickly

The role would suit someone who has confident mechanic skills ideally working with agricultural, plant, commercial or domestic vehicles looking to step up into a supervisory role.
