** Maintenance Engineer
Hours: Rotating shifts: 06:00 to 14:30, 13:30 to 22:00 / Monday to Friday
Salary: £41,000 per annum

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company, is seeking to recruit an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Redditch. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's current buildings, plant, and machinery to high standards.

Your day-to-day duties will include the following:

* Carrying out corrective maintenance on plant machinery and services quickly and efficiently to ensure minimal machinery downtime.
* Performing planned maintenance as scheduled to prevent unplanned downtime.
* Effectively communicating with other engineering shifts and production supervisors regarding breakdowns and malfunctions.
* Ensuring fault logs are kept up to date and any outstanding faults are handed over to the next shift.
* Conducting regular checks to ensure all machinery and services are in optimal working order.
* Ensuring all work is compliant with Engineering department policies, procedures, and Health and Safety regulations.
* Completing all documentation accurately and in a timely manner.

You will need the following skills and experience:

* Mechanical Engineer qualification or relevant experience in a similar role.
* Previous experience in the food manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
* Proficiency in working with processing equipment, packaging equipment, conveying systems, Refrigeration and HVAC Systems, automation, and control systems.
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
* A proactive approach to maintenance and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Role Responsibilities:

• To carry out PPM, Reactive Maintenance, and extra work requirements by set schedules.
• Ensure standards are maintained to maximize the operational effectiveness and reliability of the site systems.
• Fault finding and remedial works.
• To provide reports about work and equipment.
• Write and review method statements and risk assessments.
• Daily checks completed and recorded.
• Carry out modifications and installations when required
• Maintained, repaired, and calibrated electrical, mechanical, and instrumentation plant to optimise both reliability and maintainability.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Minimum NVQ Level 3 qualification in relevant engineering maintenance field (or equivalent other qualification recognised by CITB/EITB/JIB).
• 18th Edition Regs
• Holds additional qualifications e.g. COCN1, NVQ Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance (multi-discipline)
• Knowledge of Health and Safety Procedures
• Experience and capability to provide maintenance service in both mechanical and electrical disciplines.
