• Serves as management consultant on aircraft production process, equipment, tooling and their subsystem design, operations, modification, and replacement.

As a Supervisory General Engineer, you will:

• Serve as the Project Engineering Division Chief and manage operation of the Division, including supervising and developing the Division’s staff.
• Serve as the principal advisor to the Director, Office of Railroad Planning and Engineering on all matters related to engineering reviews and approvals, including but not limited to projects receiving approval into preliminary engineering or acceptance into final design.
• Lead, review and provide oversight over the Amtrak, State and railroad capital planning/implementation, including state-of-good-repair, capacity improvement, service enhancement projects, and other projects resulting from discretionary and/or formula funding programs.
• Direct and lead the identification and incorporation of best practices in railroad engineering, operations, and project planning/development from across the industry and internationally.
• Establish internal and external procedures, guidelines, and standards to review, assess and provide adequate technical assistance, guidance, and approvals where necessary throughout the project development phases on engineering components.

The ideal candidate for this position has significant experience supervising a staff of engineers, including vast experience in delivering technical guidance and expertise on engineering matters related to passenger rail projects.
