Multi Skilled Engineer required for a market leading service provider of commercial laundry equipment in the care home sector. This is a great opportunity to join a reputable company who truly value and celebrate their team whilst offering job security.

The successful field service engineer will have experience of working on laundry equipment. You will ideally be gas qualified however for the successful candidate this is something the company can provide.

The successful field service engineer will provide reactive and routine maintenance to both industrial and commercial laundry equipment for breakdowns at customer sites working to a target upwards of 80% first time fix. This will involve dead testing and carrying out isolation. You will work from home and will be required to be on call out stand by one in four weekends.

The Role - Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer

Pinnacle Group are looking for a Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer to work at various schools around Exeter. The Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer will carry out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building, mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant, and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures.

This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Shift patterns for this are 7am-3pm & 10am-6pm. The rota will change on a weekly basis. Additionally the Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer will be required to work on call once every 4th week, hours for this will be from 6pm-7am.

The on call shift will pay a retainer fee of £90 for the week on call, and an additional £75 per call out for the 1st 2 hours. Any on call work over 2 hours will be paid at a rate of time and a half.

Key Responsibilties/Duties

Participate in a rotating shift pattern and the out of hours on call rota, to provide a 24/7/365 service.

Provide cover for absent colleagues as appropriate to maintain the service

National Highways are looking for an experienced Principal Engineer to join our Highways Improvements Team in the Southwest. Using your expert engineering knowledge and experience in developing highway infrastructure improvement schemes, you will develop solutions to address identified need on the road network. As the South West technical lead for improvement schemes, you will work collaboratively with both internal and external partners and stakeholders. To be successful

Chartered or Incorporated Engineer and/or with extensive experience, or equivalent. Hold a degree in relevant discipline, HND, or HNC with relevant experience, or equivalent experience.
Expert knowledge in the application of Highways/Civil engineering design standards, ideally much of that experience will be in the use of Design Manual for Roads and Bridges (DMRB) standards, their application on the highways network and CDM 2015
Proven experience in the delivery of infrastructure schemes including their design, construction, and delivery. You will understand the design and delivery life cycle from identification of an issue to the delivery of the solution.
You will have experience in highway improvement decision making, prioritisation and governance (capital investment, lifecycle costs, value optimisation, benefit analysis, social, transport & economic knowledge).

Senior Scientific Software Engineer needed in Exeter £390per day ref 1257028

The Met Office is looking for a contractor to develop platforms and associated infrastructure to support research, development and learning in the area of data science, machine learning, and earth observation. The key aim of these platform is to enable collaboration between partner organisations, with easy sharing of data, code and other assets in a robust, secure way. The person doing this work will explore creating such platforms using different hosts e.g. different cloud providers, private clusters, HPC including Monsoon , in a reproducible, reusable way using relevant “Infrastructure as code” (IaC) and DevOps tools and techniques. A key part of the work will be understanding, documenting and testing the requirements of users of these platforms, and understanding the challenges associated with creating, using and sharing environmental datasets. This role will combine elements of the infrastructure engineer, technical architect and software developer to deliver the desired outputs.

Responsibilities:

• Gather requirements for platforms and infrastructure for TDSA (data science) projects and hackathons
• Develop shared software environments (e.g. docker containers, conda environments) to support these platforms and hackathons.
• Develop trial implementations on cloud platforms, primarily AWS and Azure, and private linux compute clusters.
• Support testing of platforms by supporting trial projects and events
• Put relevant and appropriate security measures in place to protect data and other assets.

What you’ll be doing

You will work within the EBS team, in a full stack DevOps role, which comprises of the full software delivery lifecycle from discovery through to design, build, deploy and run/optimize. You’ll work closely with the product owner, architect(s), and scrum master in order to bring new functionality and technical improvements to market. In addition the software engineer will be expected to provide support for those features and solutions they create – ensuring a fit for purpose operational service
