The Role - Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer
Pinnacle Group are looking for a Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer to work at various schools around Exeter. The Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer will carry out maintenance, repairs, testing and inspection of building, mechanical and electrical services, associated systems, plant, and equipment in accordance with relevant standards and operational procedures.
This is a full time role working 37.5 hours per week. Shift patterns for this are 7am-3pm & 10am-6pm. The rota will change on a weekly basis. Additionally the Multi Skilled Mechanical Engineer will be required to work on call once every 3 week, hours for this will be from 6pm-7am. The on call shift will pay an additional £75 per call out attended. Any on call work over 2 hours will be payed at a rate of time and a half.
Key Responsibilties/Duties
Participate in a rotating shift pattern and the out of hours on call rota, to provide a 24/7/365 service.
Provide cover for absent colleagues as appropriate to maintain the service
Carry out duties in accordance with safe working practices within company guidelines.
Be able to maintain, service and repair a wide range of the building services listed below.
• Heating and hot water services
• Cold water systems
• Building drainage & sanitary systems
• Air handling plant and associated systems
• Electrical distribution systems and switchgear
• Emergency lighting systems (battery)
• Electrical control systems
• Monitoring a Building Management System
• Building security
• Building fabric
Carry out planned maintenance as per the PPM schedule and maintain records and complete service reports as appropriate.
Carry out installation work involved in minor upgrading and adaptation works.
Assist other skilled trades in carrying out maintenance, repairs, testing, inspection, and installation work.
Where instructed, carry out minor repairs to the building fabric to ensure the safety and security of the premises.
Undertake training to maintain and develop skills in line with the requirements of the service & job role.
Collaborate and co-operate with partners and colleagues to deliver a customer focused service.
Undertake overtime as required to maintain the service and oversee external provider works.
Skills Required
Relevant qualification / apprenticeship, in any of the listed criteria.
Repair, diagnosis, and maintenance / servicing, of heating / plumbing systems, experience dealing with breakdowns, servicing, and installations.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to record accurately all works carried out
Able to participate in the on-call Rota system.
Skilled in the use of handheld devises / laptop
Willing to support other roles to cover absence.
Experience of Microsoft packages
Practical knowledge of Statutory compliance requirements
Able to manage own workload and prioritise where necessary
Satisfactory DBS clearance at enhanced level.
Highly organised & Self-motivated
Proactive / problem solving
knowledge of Health & Safety
Full Driving License
