Remote working

An experienced civil litigation lawyer to assist our busy team with a varied caseload including property litigation, highways and general civil litigation (including debt recovery and judicial review proceedings). There will be an expectation of some supervision to junior members of the team.

Candidates with previous Local Government experience will be essential as this is a fast paced role and will require the successful candidate to take on an immediate and complex caseload.

Key responsibilities:

Oversee and manage a caseload in an area of law allocated.
Respond to requests for advice, representation etc, from the Council employees.
Manage all aspects of court representation as required.
Advise and/or present to courts, meetings, members at formal appeal hearings or as required by the County Solicitor
Assume a lead role in advising clients on specialist aspects of law and practice as required and to organise/participate in training events as appropriate and/or necessary.

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level;
Law Society admitted and Solicitor Regulatory Authority registered solicitor, Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives or Bar Standards Board registered barrister

Knowledge:

A thorough knowledge of that area of law, good advocacy skills and considerable experience in case management is essential along with demonstrable experience of working in a particular field

Experience:

Adequate experience of managing own workload

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent communication and presentational skills both verbal and written including influencing and persuasion;
Excellent ICT skills and a degree of administrative self-sufficiency although some secretarial support will be provided.
Ability to absorb and interpret legislation, case law and procedures;
Ability to assimilate facts and present these in a coherent fashion in order to facilitate desired results. It is important to note the impact of incorrect advice and poor advocacy could be financially very significant

Field Service Engineer required for a leading supplier of variable speed drives and support services. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to join a growing business who can offer ongoing training opportunities and a competitive target earnings.

To apply for this role, you will be an electrically qualified engineer with experience working with variable speed drives. Candidates from any industry are encouraged to apply and this role would suit either an experience field service engineers or a maintenance engineer looking to move into a mobile position.

The successful candidate will be joining a growing team responsible for carrying out pre-planned services, breakdown repairs and planned upgrades at customer sites. You will work within a variety of sectors including manufacturing, energy and water industries.

For one week in five this role will require the successful candidate to be on call 24/7. However, during this week the candidate will be based at home and will be responsible for providing remote technical support and will complete paperwork such as risk assessments.

The Field Service Engineer Role:

· Working with variable speed drives and electric motors
· Carry out service, repair and upgrades
· Typically working within a 1 hour – 1.5 hour radius of home
· Occasional overnight stay
· On call rota – 1 in 5 weeks
· Regular overtime available

The Field Service Engineer Candidate:

· Qualified electrical engineer
