Incumbent typical work assignments may include the following:

• Serves as the principal staff action officer for international issues related to terrestrial and space-based SDS, including fixed, mobile and radio-location.
• Develops, coordinates and oversees the implementation of DoD policies and strategic plans for management and use of the EMS for SDS, capabilities, and equipment with an emphasis on international policy for space, and terrestrial systems, including radars, weapons guidance systems, navigation systems, and electronic warfare systems.
• Develops and assesses complex and technical proposals and coordinates with the Department of State, NTIA and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for national and internationally advocacy.
• Represents the Director in national and international forums, including heading government delegations in EMS-related coordination meetings.
• Leads the Department in EMS analyses, assessments, and studies to include reallocation, re-purpose, compatibility, sharing, and relocation.

• Assist in providing services to the WHS serviced organizations and tenants concerning fire code interpretation and enforcement; fire hazard/protection analysis; fire and life safety systems review.
• Serve as a fire protection engineer performing detailed reviews of design and shop drawings.
• Evaluate work for compliance with federal accessibility, building, and fire codes.
• Incumbent provides management of fire prevention programs.

As a ELECTRICAL ENGINEER, GS-0850-14, your typical work assignments are to serve as Chief Engineer for Electrical Systems, Engineering Repair, Design, Review and related Building Commissioning. Responsibilities may include, and are not limited to:

• Assign planning and utilization initiatives for the various building electrical system renovations and operation.
• Develop and implement new and innovative engineering methods to the design of electrical utility systems using performance specifications and incentive award approach and includes all related electrical systems pertaining to existing utilities and those impacted by the Pentagon Reservation.
• Provide leadership by rendering expert advice to various agencies, A&E Firms and the Pentagon Renovation Office concerning the design, construction, maintenance of the electrical systems.
