We are looking for an experienced Mobile Gas Engineer to work with a range of clients carrying out maintenance and repair, including fabric & basic electrical tasks of buildings as required under contract. To ensure all PPM and Reactive tasks are completed to the required legislative standards. To ensure all required paperwork is completed and submitted within timescales.
This is a field based, mobile position covering the Lincolnshire and Peterborough areas in the East Midlands. The postcodes that the role covers are: LN. PE. This role is working for high street retailers & banks clients for the TS-Mobile division.
Salary: The salary is based between £30,744- £50,000 and benefits, depending upon qualifications and skillsets.
You'll carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance and complete the appropriate paperwork and reports. You'll ensure all statutory and mandatory tasks are completed within the required timescales, ensure all certification is correctly completed and remedial works clearly identified. As a Gas Engineer you will also need to carry out reactive and emergency tasks and expected to complete all tasks using handheld technology effectively.

The ideal candidate must have commercial Gas tickets, will be Qualified to City & Guilds Level II/III or equivalent in relevant disciplines to role.
Candidates must be able to be on a call out rota to provide clients with full out of hours cover and assist other team members when required or as directed from a Supervisor or Contract Manager. You'll need to have a proactive approach to sourcing additional opportunities or works on sites and source and provide required information for quotes. You'll also monitor visiting sub-contractors regarding standard of work and Health and Safety and issue appropriate Permits, controlling small works and escort duties as required.

Engineering Saw Operative

Paying up to £15 per hour

Shifts: Monday - Friday days with an early finish on a Friday at 1pm

Our client in Peterborough is looking for a Saw Operative with general engineering skills to join their team on a permanent basis. This role is Monday - Friday days with an early finish on a Friday and if you like overtime there is plenty available all paid at a premium!

The client designs and manufactures balustrades and staircases all bespoke and made to order predominantly sitting within the structural and construction industry. The role itself will involve cutting and shaping metal using a variety of saws, bending machines, presses and manual machines. The ideal candidate will come from an engineering background, be familiar with working to engineering drawings and must be able to use measuring tools. This role will involve running the manual machine shop ensuring health and safety procedures are followed and any parts are ordered in as and when required.

Essential Skills / Experience

Must have an engineering background

Be competent using a band saw

Must be able to use measuring tools

Ideally will have experience bending, forming and shaping metal

Worked with a variety of metals including stainless, aluminium and mild steel

Confident working from engineering drawings

Tube bending / automated saw experience would be advantageous

Experience ordering parts would be beneficial

Chemical Laboratory Technician

Location: Duxford - South of Cambridge

Starting salary would be £21.06 p/h equivalent to £36,391 p/a with an appealing shift pattern and long-term career potential!

Our market-leading client based south of Cambridge is looking to expand their current operational team. As a global manufacturer of advanced materials, they are seeking additional support in their chemical laboratory whereby the successful candidates will be involved in a variety of quality control and testing processes to ensure the high standards of their manufacturing process meets the required standards. This department is therefore a critical component of the continual research and development process.

These roles are shift based, a shift being 12 hours with paid breaks, averaging 12 shifts a month with rest periods of up to 6 days between (Average 6/7-night shifts per month). Over time is also regularly available and paid at 1.5x or 2.0x the rate depending on the shift.

Duties:

• Preparation and Evaluation: Conduct laboratory duties that involve preparing and evaluating composite materials.
• Formulation and Mixing: Formulate and mix resins and other chemicals to produce films and other composite products.
• Testing and Analysis: Perform tests to assess the properties and performance of materials, ensuring they meet quality standards.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of experiments, results, and procedures in compliance with safety and quality protocols.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other technicians and engineers to support product development and improvement initiatives.
• Safety Compliance: Adhere to laboratory safety protocols and ensure a safe working environment.

Qualifications & Skills

Educational Background: A degree or diploma in chemistry, materials science, or a related field is typically required.

Technical Skills: Familiarity with laboratory equipment and techniques related to chemical analysis and composite materials.

Attention to Detail: Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to ensure accuracy in experiments and data recording.

Team Player: Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment, contributing to collaborative projects.

Problem-Solving Skills: Capable of troubleshooting and resolving technical issues that may arise during experiments.

Driving License and own transport are required for the role due to remote location of the depot!

• Experience of working in manufacturing / production industries
• Must be an experienced / time-served engineer/electrician
• Qualified ideally to ONC/HNC electrical/electronics
• Must be able to fault find / problem solve down to electronic component level
• RF experience desirable
• High voltage experience would be great - AC / DC power supplies
• Good soldering skills
• Team player with a get stuck in attitude
• Beneficial to have City & Guilds 2391 Elec Inspection & Testing and 17th / 18th Edition
