Job Summary:

Main duties & responsibilities:

Contribute to the development of the Operations Department strategy.
Co-ordinate cross-functional departmental activities to resolve manufacturing issues during day-to-day operation's activity.
Develop best practices to improve production capacity, quality, and reliability.
Support and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Support New Product Introduction, NPI and Design for Manufacture, DFM activities.
Responsible for production engineering tasks associated with ToT(Transfer of Technology) projects.
To undertake customer and supplier visits by car, when necessary. As such a full current driving licence is required.
Develop operating instructions and equipment specifications for production activities.
Carry out other tasks and activities as required by management.

Qualifications:

Degree in an engineering related discipline or with a recognised engineering apprencticeship with an electro-optical manufacturing environment.

Experience:

Demonstrates a good level of understanding and application of process engineering principles, concepts, practices, and standards.

Our growing client who is a leading provider in the lifting equipment sector is looking for a Crane Engineer to join their team in Erith and cover London and the South East.

The company has been providing specialist testing, inspection, maintenance, certification, and training services on cranes, lifting equipment, height safety equipment, pressure systems and local exhaust ventilation systems for over 200 years.

As a Crane Engineer, you will be required to conduct routine service inspections to overhead cranes and hoists and to understand LOLER and PUWER. You will be required to consult with your customers afterwards, ensuring that next steps are recorded with prevention of breakdowns as your goal. You need to anticipate the problems before they occur. You will be involved in frontline maintenance, attending to breakdowns, you will also be carrying out fault finding, retrofits, modernisations and upgrades to the customer cranes and hoists.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• NVQ3, HNC, HND or C&G electrical engineering qualification
• Relevant industry experience working with cranes and hoists
• Proven technical knowledge of lifting equipment and lifting machines
• Ability to solve problems individually as well as part of a team
• Excellent customer service manner, with strong listening and interpersonal skills
• Ability to build lasting relationships with clients
• Ability to support your business unit/team to deliver their ESG Strategy - Decade to Deliver
• Current UK driving licence

• £35,000-£44,140
• Mon-Fri 8am-4pm, 39 hours per week

Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Break down hydraulic and mechanical components to their individual parts.
• Conduct thorough inspections, including:

Qualifications and Experience

£32,916 - £37,304 depending on experience

As a Field Service Engineer, you'll be visiting customers in their homes across Maidstone and the surrounding areas, and fixing any appliance issues to get them up and running again.
