Design. Work. Pipelines.
As a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer you will work in an agile multidisciplinary team building and operating products and services that are consumed by the rest of DWP Digital.
You will build centralised, shared cloud infrastructure services that allow application teams to build, deploy and scale applications quickly to serve our citizens.
You will design, implement, administer and support cloud infrastructure technologies, solutions and services such as:
- Networking and cloud connectivity
- Continuous integration
- Container administration
- PaaS and SaaS services.
Tell me more:
You will have a deep understanding of cloud tools and technologies, especially around infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, containers and cloud networking.
You should also have an appreciation of information security, designing solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered as mitigation against security threats as a core part of the solutions and services.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of building and operating systems in at least 3 of these areas:
- Implementation and maintenance of CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab or equivalent
- Container build and runtime environments
- Writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code
- Cloud networking
- Operating systems, including Microsoft Windows and Redhat Linux
- Kubernetes administration and associated technologies e.g. Flux, Helm.

You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester or Newcastle, whichever is most convenient for you.

We offer competitive pay of up to £73,153.
You'll be eligible for a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth over a minimum of £15,000 per year.
