What You Will Achieve 

As a member of the Pfizer team, your role will be accountable for activities involved in the design and development of manufacturing processes for products, taking into consideration problems inherent in the transfer of technology from research to manufacturing. Such design and development may include new or revised processes. Your work will help develop procedures for the economical mass production in cooperation with pilot-plant and production departments. You and your team will conduct tests and measurements throughout stages of production to determine control over applicable variables; and service, troubleshoot and solve production process problems with processes or equipment already in operation. 

As a Senior Manager, your advanced knowledge of the principles and concepts in the discipline and comprehensive knowledge of other disciplines will enable you to lead complex projects across the division. Your experience in project management will be used while reviewing status of projects and budgets, managing schedules and preparing status reports, developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality and client-satisfaction goals. Your ability to develop and manage plans will facilitate in achieving objectives, interpreting internal and external business challenges and recommending best practices for improvements. While managing complex project environments, you will be able to anticipate and troubleshoot roadblocks and influence teams to achieve targets for the division.

How You Will Achieve It 

• Develop ideas and lead/co-lead complex projects across operating unit. 

• Communicate to key stakeholders in a timely manner on source changes, technical transfers or Cost Improvement Projects project plans / timelines resource / time constraints, scheduling conflicts. 

• Responsible for project budgets and reporting to Program Team, Asset Team and associated Business Unit. 

• Engage contract manufacturers participating in key activities ensuring Pfizer’s strategy is understood and resources are in place to support execution. 

• Responsible to ensure that appropriate process control strategy is in place across unit operations (including trending, review and action plans – as needed). 

• Develop and deliver Co-Development Plan for endorsement (includes key strategies for Ph3 readiness, Process Understanding / RFT, ICH / PV and BLA/MAA filing). 

• Responsible for project budgets and reporting to Asset Team and associated Business Unit. 

• Drive alignment across stakeholders on technical strategies and priorities identified in Technology Lifecycle Plan. 

• Lead launch teams and operations sub- teams to develop strategy and tactical supply plans for the commercialization of new Pfizer products while assuring a global focus. 

Qualifications 

Must-Have 

• Bachelor’s Degree and 7+ years of experience. 

• Effective written and verbal communication skills. 

• Strong interpersonal skills and experience working in a team environment across business functions. 

• Independent, self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work effectively in a dynamic, problem-solving environment. 

Nice-to-Have 

• Master’s degree and 10+ years of relevant pharmaceutical experience. 

• Experience in problem-solving, negotiations, presentation and supervision of a  
  multi-layered organization, including understanding of DAMIC (six sigma) tools and practices and a focus on continuous improvement. 

• Broad knowledge of technology transfer process and manufacturing for Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients; Good technical understanding of pharmaceutical processes and the impact of technical change. 

• Demonstrated experience and competence in organizing, planning and problem solving related to qualifying new API suppliers.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Assist with job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing. Review and prepare daily cost reporting to the project team and upper management.

• Interpret design/drawings for craft workers installing material to ensure specifications are followed.

• Interface with all on-site departments as required, to resolve problems, ensure quality construction, in order to support overall project schedule. Create 3-week look ahead schedules on a weekly basis with input from the project team.

• Research and recommend resolutions to drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errors, to verify that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawing and specifications.

• Prepare and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, to supervisor to provide accuracy.

• Provide technical support and direction regarding project material controls including delivery dates, construction schedules and design requirements to ensure additional costs are minimized.

• Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction work, change orders, and estimates to meet changing job requirements.

• Provide necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials to ensure a quality job.

• Develop job essential data including quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, and equipment to ensure accurate estimates and bids.

• Research historical data and productivity analysis reports in order to compile summary reports to develop guidelines and precedence for future estimates.

• May supervise, direct, and mentor project staff to ensure individual development and that project standards are met. 

• Assist in representing company, project and/or department during client and project management meetings to ensure effective communication. Prepare daily report and participate in daily plan of the day (POD) meetings.

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field preferred, or equivalent combinations of technical training and related experience.

Work Experience

• 2+ year’s construction estimating support, engineering, field support, or similar experience.

Knowledge, skills, and abilities

• Proficiency with all MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), Scheduling and HCSS (Heavyjob).

• Working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawing and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to discipline.

• Ability to perform trigonometric calculation either manually or with a calculator.

• Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate effectively with others.

Essential Job Accountabilities

• Manage job controls to ensure compliance with contract, budget, schedule, forecasting and job costing. Review and prepare daily cost reporting to the project team and upper management.

As a Kubernetes platform engineer on our team, you’ll develop and sustain multiple secure, resilient, and highly available Kubernetes clusters to support mission critical operations both regionally and on the edge. You’ll recommend tools and capabilities based on your research of the current environment and knowledge of various on premise, cloud based, and hybrid resources. Your technical expertise will be vital as you work with your customer to ensure standards are met throughout the process. You Have:

• 1+ years of experience with Kubernetes

• Experience with managing, administrating, configuring, deploying, and maintaining environments and system integration tools, including Kubernetes, Rancher, Harbor, Helm, Longhorn, Rook-Ceph, Chaos Engineering, and Grafana

• Experience in writing Terraform, Ansible playbooks, Linux automation scripts, rudimentary APIs, or automation scripts to interact with existing APIs, automated provisioning, infrastructure as code, and software development programming languages

• Knowledge of systems monitoring, alerting, and analytics at the container level for APM tools, including Splunk, ELK, and Prometheus

• Knowledge of IDAM requirements and technologies, including Active Directory, SAML, OpenLDAP, hardware tokens, OAuth 2.0, or OIDC

• Ability to obtain a security clearance

• HS diploma or GED

• Ability to obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification within 2 months of hire date

Nice If You Have:

• Experience with managing and deploying applications in an air-gapped environment

• Experience with Agile development methodologies and working on Agile teams using collaboration tools, including Jira, Confluence, or Discourse

• Experience with creating and conducting automated unit and system integration tests to identify and feedback failed modules and components

• Experience in working with CM tools, including Gitlab, Git-centric, and CI/CD workflows

• Ability to communicate technical ideas and deliver briefings with cross functional teams

• Possession of excellent verbal and written communications skills

As a Sr. Validation Engineer supporting Manufacturing Science & Technology, you will be trusted to work on design, develop, and implement new or revised production processes for the efficient/economical mass production of goods at Sinking Spring, PA.

In this role, a typical day will include:

• Use principles based on validation and risk management tools (e.g. FMEA) to lead in the development and maintenance of Validation Master Plan(s)/Validation document(s)for process, systems, cleaning, and packaging.
• Maintain the validation program for the manufacturing site in liaison with corporate/industry standards.
• Establish and maintain an overview of the state of validation for assigned projects and product platforms and assist in establishing the project prioritization including leading resources for validation efforts.
• Be responsible for the translation of critical quality attributes and critical process parameters into a focused risk-based approach for validation.
• Collaborate with internal partners, including Quality Assurance, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure alignment and consistency to validation procedures and timelines.
• Support engineering activities, (e.g. support the Change Control creation) to ensure appropriate validation work is clearly defined resulting from technical changes.
• Serve as the Lead validation representative for all internal, external, or regulatory inspections/audits to ensure site readiness in support of successful inspections e.g. no critical observations related to validation activities.
• Lead commissioning, qualification, and validation activities related to medical device manufacturing and facility systems including custom automation equipment
• Build validation protocols such as FAT/SAT/IQ/OQ/PQ ensuring compliance with regulatory compliance and industry standards as needed
• Develop and implement measurement systems analysis protocol including Gage R&R (GR&R) and Attribute Agreement Analysis (AAA).
• Analyze validation data, generate validation reports, and detail any deviations or non-conformances, implementing corrective and preventive actions as needed.
• Stay up to date with current regulations, industry trends, and technological advancements in validation practices, ensuring compliance and suggesting process improvements when appropriate.
• Mentor and guide junior validation engineers, promoting professional development and collaboration.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
