Radio Frequency Systems Engineer, Senior
Key Role:
Provide engineering support on Aviation Systems Engineering (ASE) projects for their NAVAIR and other Naval customers. Work under the direction of senior engineers for specific project tasking. Perform tasking, including requirements analysis, test and evaluation support, and data analysis support associated with various RF communications systems. Support development of novel and complex RF voice, data, video communications system solutions, including secure and dynamic radio networks. Support and analyze related requirements, conceptual and formal designs, and installations in a dynamic collaborative engineering environment. Work closely with a team of engineers to support installation, test, and troubleshooting of new hardware, systems, and software for radio equipment and networking equipment in both lab and live environment. Design, develop, modify, and evaluate complicated and difficult hardware devices or systems. Maintain technical responsibility for planning and conducting technical processes or phases of projects and coordinate the efforts of technical support personnel, drafters, technical writers, and electronics technicians, as required. Develop and recommend design approaches for new or improved products and processes. Consolidate the results of RF hardware design elements for assigned projects. Conduct independent technical investigations involving the origination or modification of material, component, or process specifications and requirements. Evaluate vendor capabilities to provide required products or services and provide work leadership for junior employees.

Basic Qualifications:
3+ years of experience with leading teams of engineers in the design, installation, and cutover of RF systems
Experience with detailed radio system planning, design, test, and implementation
Experience with RF propagation modeling, coverage planning, and radio network design, and current coverage planning software
Experience with troubleshooting radio system integration and operational radio frequency interference issues
Experience with implementing antenna systems including the use of combiners, multi-couplers, filters and sophisticated distributed antenna systems and solutions
Knowledge of aircraft and ground systems, safety of flight, mission critical networks, and voice and data communications, including VHF or UHF LOS, UHF SATCOM, or MUOS
Secret clearance
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics and 14+ years of experience with designing and implementing RF Systems or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Physics and 10+ years of experience with designing and implementing RF Systems
Additional Qualifications:
Experience with commonly used radios in the DoD, including features and capabilities of Rockwell Collins and Harris Mobile Radios, including ARC-210, PRC-117, and AN/PEC-152A
Experience with various network protocols and data communications interfaces
Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills
Top Secret clearance

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $73,100.00 to $166,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
