Job Title: Senior Field Service Engineer
Location - Inverness (Field based role)
Hours: Monday to Thursday, 8 AM - 5 PM; Friday, 8 AM - 3 PM
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

I am working with leading provider of biomass boiler systems who are looking to expand their team by recruiting a full-time Senior Field Service Engineer.

Role Overview:
I am on the lookout for a Senior Field Service Engineer who is eager to advance in the biomass sector. It's an excellent opportunity for a technically proficient individual with a solid foundation in Commercial Plumbing & Heating and/or the Commercial Electrical Industry. Full Specialised training in biomass systems will be provided, so experience in that area is not required. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a desire for growth.

As a Senior Field Service Engineer, you will oversee ongoing planned and reactive maintenance, perform daily repairs, and ensure that commercial biomass heating installations comply with legislative and contractual standards. Your role will involve a variety of tasks to guarantee the optimal performance and reliability of our systems.

Core Responsibilities:

• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on commercial heating systems, including pumps, control valves, pressurisation units, and associated mechanical/electrical services, including control systems, fuel stores, and augers.
• Quickly transition into the biomass sector through tailored training courses and on-site learning workshops relevant to the equipment you will maintain.
• Respond efficiently to breakdowns and equipment failures, diagnosing issues and implementing repairs using your engineering expertise to minimise downtime.
• Perform servicing tasks to high standards, ensuring compliance with legislation and contracts.
• Maintain detailed records of all work completed on-site using a company tablet and cloud-based asset management software.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by integrating with client representatives on-site and fostering strong relationships with key members of our client's teams.
• Collaborate with internal team members and departments to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Criteria:

• SNVQ (or equivalent) in Commercial Plumbing & Heating and/or Electrical Installation.
• Valid Driving License.
• A minimum of 5 years experience in a related industry.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical circuits, and heating principles.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a methodical approach to diagnostics.
• Proficient with hand tools and trade-specific equipment.
• Background in commercial heating systems with hands-on experience on-site.
• Strong technical skills with a proactive approach.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities.

Desirable Criteria:

• Previous experience in the biomass sector.
• Additional certifications in heating, plumbing, or electrical disciplines.
• Qualifications in Oil/Gas Servicing (OFTEC / Gas Safe Modules).

Harley Haddow have recently secured a new office space in Scotland and are excited to set further roots in the North. Centrally located in Inverness, with superb connectivity to transportation networks, you'll become part of a dynamic and expanding team poised for future growth.

We are building our Mechanical Engineering team in our Inverness office and looking for a driven and experienced Senior Electrical Engineer.

You will support with the delivery and project management of the Electrical Services Design on assigned projects, Whilst taking the lead providing M&E representation. You will be responsible for maintaining and improving the quality and efficiency of the Electrical Services design and post contract implementation offered by Harley Haddow whilst supporting junior engineers and assisting with their personal development.

You will have strong technical and communication skills and be confident in representing Harley Haddow through direct contact with clients and other design team members.

Other key responsibilities include;

Developing electrical services strategies
Preparing scheme design drawings (from concept right through to detailed design).
Preparing outline M&E specification in BCIS format including environmental strategies.
Where appropriate inputting to the Stage 2 and 3 MEP Reports
Assisting in the preparation of BCIS elemental M&E cost plans.
Understanding and working within the commercial framework for projects.
Preparing and delivering project presentations to client teams
Preparing electrical services scheme design proposals
Taking responsibility for delivery of electrical services detail design
Planning and programming electrical detailed design processes
Supervising and planning workloads for Assistant and Apprentice Engineers on projects you are responsible for
Ensuring that electrical services detailed outputs meets quality requirements.
Ensuring project delivery meets deadlines and Client’s brief.
Monitoring electrical Installation works against Electrical Services Design.

About you:

Degree qualified and ideally working towards chartered status.
Be able to demonstrate proven project experience
Strong record in project management, delivery, and quality.
People skills and demonstrable management and client facing skills.
Capable of working with own initiative to provide solutions to engineering and management challenges
Hold a valid UK Driving Licence(preferable)
Be prepared to travel to meetings and projects, as necessary. Generally local to contracted office, but occasional work in other parts of UK and Europe or overseas that may necessitate an overnight stay
Ideally with experience Expert in the use of all necessary design software not limited to those identified below CAD, Revit, Bluebeam Hevacomp

About the Role

SSEN Transmission is currently recruiting for a Senior Subsea Engineer to join our HVDC Project Engineering team, supporting our growing portfolio of subsea HV cable projects. This discipline engineering role supports all offshore and nearshore design and installation engineering activities across the project lifecycle; from start of development to end of execution.

In undertaking this key role for delivery of critical national infrastructure projects, youll be a key player in helping us achieve Net Zero.

The overriding objective for the Senior Subsea Engineer is to drive and maintain technical excellence across the offshore engineering discipline. To that end, the main responsibilities include:

- Providing senior level expertise and mentorship to junior members of the engineering team, challenging the status-quo with innovative thinking.

- Supporting engineering teams across a number of different projects, driving swift resolution of complex issues.

- Driving standardisation of Employer requirements/specifications, including implementation of technical "Lessons Learned", ensuring effective follow-up and affirmative action for the betterment of all projects.

- Promoting our safety-in-design ethos and taking a leading role in identifying and managing risks pertaining to offshore and nearshore design and installation.

- Support the Engineering manager to comply with internal governance, including preparation of design and safety assurance reviews.

What do I need?

- Minimum qualification level of BEng in a related engineering discipline.

- Extensive knowledge and experience in subsea design, engineering, and installation/construction works.

Job Purpose:
* The Senior Bridges Engineer will manage the identification, investigation, design, planning, procurement and construction management of planned bridge maintenance works on the major bridges. The postholder will manage internal and sub-contractors' resources to meet contract requirements.
Responsibilities and Activities include (but are not restricted to):
* Assist a Principal Engineer with the management and supervision of a small design team, sub-consultants and sub-contractors.
* Oversee the outline and detailed design of bridge maintenance schemes including technical approval and design certification.
* Ensure compliance with technical standards or mange the submission of Departures from Standard when applicable.
* Produce tender documents and preconstruction information packages.
* Tender evaluation and assisting with contract award.
* Manage the internal financial performance of individual schemes.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality procedures that form part of the company's Integrated management systems.
* Ensure compliance with the CDM Regulations, as required, and ensure that robust risk assessments are carried out before works, operations or inspections take place.
* Liaise with clients and auditors.
* Co-ordinate the production, issue and archiving of all drawings, documents, and scheme files.
* Ensuring that adequate environmental screening is undertaken and appropriate mitigation measures are implemented prior to work commencing.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
* Educated to degree level in Civil or Structural Engineering
* Relevant experience in the design and maintenance of highway bridge structures.
* Professional qualifications and membership of an appropriate professional body (IEng / CEng and MICE, MIStructE, IHE etc)
* A full approved UK driving licence.
* Skilled in the project management of schemes and the management of teams.
* Clear communicator.

What we need from you

Reporting to our Project Manager of our North Scotland Region, you will delivery successful and safe execution of part or all of a project depending on size, requiring planning and programming capability. Our Senior Site Engineers carry out setting out duties accurately and on time, as well as the general management and co-ordination of digital engineering information.

You will need to be able to provide or obtain the right to work in the UK
You will need to be able to drive and provide or obtain a full UK Driving Licence.
Are you an experienced construction Site Engineer or looking for the next step into construction engineering and can demonstrate site management support?
You will have a qualification or the skills and experience at SCQF Level 8/9, 10 (e.g., HND, Degree level)
Be able to work on multiple projects at various stages at any one time without the need for close supervision.
Be able to carry out Land survey and mapping tasks including production of drawings.
Ensures quality control requirements are met and recorded in accordance with specification
Have a diligent approach to the preparation of information to customers and to the checking of information provided by others
Preferably, you will have previous experience construction methods, health and safety, and legal regulations.
