The role
As an Assistant Calibration Engineer, you'll have a role that's out of the ordinary. You will be key in delivering support to our naval fleet, whilst ensuring quality and product safety.
Day-to-day, you'll work within the mechanical calibration facility and assist engineers with activities associated with calibration of all mechanical instruments, produce reports from database, and communicate and help to answer customers queries as well as:
- Dealing with internal and external customers
- Assisting with receipt / dispatch of customers equipment
- Updating equipment database
- Assisting Calibration Engineers with calibration activities
- Processing quality documentations
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential experience of the Assistant Calibration Engineer
- Customer focused, exceptional attention to detail with a methodical and structured approach
- Proficient working with IT equipment, Office products and electronic workflows
- Ability to achieve consistent results with professionalism, courtesy and integrity
- Strong interpersonal and communications skills (both written and verbal) and the ability to interface effectively with our customers and other calibration teams
Qualifications for the Assistant Calibration Engineer
- Level 3 qualification and experience in relevant engineering discipline, preferably have completed a recognised apprenticeship in an associated discipline
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be a sole UK national who is able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
