RESPONSIBILITIES

Purpose:

The Engineer provides technical support under Mediacorp's Broadcast Engineering (BE)'s Transmission department & ensure that it is in compliance with all relevant legal & regulatory requirements & maintains the highest possible standard in terms of competencies in technical operations & engineering support as well as the transmission service uptime.

The scope:

The Engineer is expected:

• To handle the transmission equipment which includes the maintenance & repair of transmission equipment.
• To assist in liaising with the vendors or suppliers & will also be involved in various transmission projects.
• To assist to coordinate with the various government agencies on matters concerning RF radiation or location access with the building owners (eg. HDB, Town Councils & commercial buildings).
• To perform standby technical support duty with opportunities to also cover the transmission operation shift duty.

Requirements:

• A good basic degree or diploma in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or its equivalent.
• Ability to perform shift work.
• Effective verbal & writing skills.
• A strong interest & knowledge in media broadcast technology will be an added advantage.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Scope:

The Asst Tech Ops Exec/Engineer is expected:

i. MOC:

• To perform allocated tasks in the areas of for linear and non-linear TV playout & Radio operations.
• To monitor the performance of TV playout & Radio equipment and processes and communicate any issues for troubleshooting.
• To maintain TV & Radio service logs for compliance purposes which involves the constant monitoring of systems over long shifts and periods.
• To report any anomalies or system faults immediately once detected.

ii. Media Playout TV/Radio Infra Tech Support:

• To support the design, installation and maintenance of broadcast enterprise systems at Media Operations Centre, TV Playout, Radio Playout & Production and centralised technical facilities.
• To assist in delivering infrastructure projects, which includes system integration, acceptance tests and enhancement work.
• To perform preventive and corrective maintenance of broadcast related equipment and infrastructure and involves delivering infrastructure projects as per technical instructions, standard procedures and learning on-the-job in maintaining broadcast equipment and systems of TV & Radio Playout Automation System, Central Audio & Video Core Router, Central Production Intercom System, Broadcast Control and Monitoring System.

Requirements:

• Polytechnic Diploma or University Degree in Technical discipline.
• Possess IT networking skill, any audio and video technical knowledge will have priority.
• Proficient in MS Office.
• Proficient in written and communication skills
• High concentration level as well as an eye for detail to spot problems and issues.
