• You will provide consultation to clients with recommendations and plans for the existing assets or land.

• You will be responsible for technical and repair support of diversified and complex shipboard techniques and processes relating to Ships Systems.
• You will provide engineering support for the planning, execution, and closeout of depot level availabilities on surface ships.
• You will plan work and assign tasks to subordinates, set priorities and approve work schedules.
• You will evaluate performance of personnel, mentor, give advice and counsel on work and administrative matters.
• You will prepare, submit and justify the Branch's tasking agreements with other commands.

Major Duties:

• Operates gas or diesel powered engineering and construction equipment with wheeled or crawler-type traction, such as road graders, tractors with bulldozer or angle dozer blades, front-end loaders, backhoes, wheel loaders, trench diggers, and large industrial tractors with pan or scraper attachments.
• Operates equipment to push, pull, pile, excavate, backfill, grade, or level earth and/or refuse.
• Uses equipment to perform such functions as cutting, moving, digging, grading, and rolling earth, sand, stone, and other materials to maintain ditches, road shoulders, and beds.
• These positions will support projects that will help maintain and rehabilitate Grand Canyon National Parks trails systems and viewpoints on the South Rim and North Rim of Grand Canyon.

• You will install, repair, inspect, operate, maintain, and service specialized heating, ventilation, air conditioning systems and refrigeration equipment systems.
• You will maintain and service compressed air generating, drying and oil removal equipment for pneumatic controllers and monitoring devices.
• You will perform modifications and tests on controls.
• You will calculate air flow, and the pressure temperature characteristics for different systems in order to locate and repair faulty equipment swiftly and to reduce inoperative time to minimum.
• You will maintain and test water treatment chemical equipment (conductivity controllers and chemical feed pumps).
• You will read blueprints, complex drawings, sketches, wiring diagrams, manufacturing specifications and technical materials.

• You will directly supervise a team of Supply Technicians that procure materials from a variety of sources.
• You will assign work to subordinates based on workload received and nature of priorities, the difficulty of the work to be performed and the capabilities of the employees.
• You will act as the appointed Approving Official for the NAVFAC SW Government Commercial Purchase Card (GCPC) program.
• You will analyze and evaluate each incoming material request for accuracy and Financial Improvement and Audit Readiness (FIAR) compliancy.
• You will use automated systems to monitor financial transactions.
• You will collect and analyze Supply Chain performance data and provide metrics based on data results.

• You will act as point of contact regarding mechanical utilities systems information.
• You will serve as technical advisor to engineers on complex engineering problems.
• You will perform engineering investigations to avoid future and existing operational problems.
• You will develop repair, construction, maintenance and preventive maintenance program requirements for mechanical utilities systems.

R&M is a service area within Coventry City Council which provides repair and maintenance services to Coventry City’s operational, commercial and school portfolio. We have a dedicated team with over 30 years’ experience of completing emergency and responsive repairs, planned preventative maintenance schedules and property improvements and refurbishments.

The R&M team is multi-disciplined providing building works, refurbishments, general maintenance, gas servicing, maintenance and installations, electrical works and a 24 hour a day, 365 days a year emergency call out service across all trades.

This is an exciting time for you to join our team. In this role, you will be expected to provide a site-based, practical solution to a variety of building services related customer needs including, planned maintenance, reactive repairs and minor works. You will work under the direction of the Facilities Manager to ensure that all tasks are completed on time and to budget to a high standard.

The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:

• Responsible for carrying out all work in compliance with industry standards, British standards and applying all relevant Approved Codes of Practice.
• Carry out planned maintenance and reactive repairs effectively and efficiently within the target timescales given.
• Install new heating installations/improvements
• Responsible for ensuring that all work issued is completed by the due date and reporting full details of exceptions including liaison with customers.
• Work can be in a variety of industries including schools, residential and commercial.

You must have excellent communication skills and the ability to comprehend written instructions. Previous work experience in a reactive repair gas/combustion environment would be beneficial.

A full UK driving license and recognised qualifications are essential.

Qualifications and experience required include -

• Approved City and Guilds/CITB/ACS qualifications in both Domestic and Commercial aspects of the industry.
• Commercial Gas / (Safety) qualifications.
• Unvented hot water experience.
• Experience and knowledge of water hygiene / legionella regulations

We can offer:

• Up to ££44,711 pa
• Stand-by allowance - £30 per shift, 9 shifts per week (2 per day Sat/Sun)
• Out of hours call out rate - Minimum 2hrs per call at a flat hourly rate then time and a half for every hour after that (per day)

• You will lead multi-disciplinary teams of design and construction engineers that both design facility projects and oversee construction.
• You will determine work priorities for employees to ensure performance to plan goals are met.
