Rolling Stock Maintenance Team Members

Rullion has an excellent opportunity for three highly skilled dual-skilled fitters with Level 3 qualifications and electrical proficiency. This ongoing contract is with a leading rolling stock company based at their depot in the northwest.

Shift Pattern:
37/44 hours per week (Averaged over a period dependent on weekly shift pattern)
Days and nights shift rotation

Start Date:
2nd December 2024

Duration:
Ongoing contract, initially for 6 months

Rates:
First 12 weeks:
- PAYE: £24.20 per hour
- Umbrella:£30.27 per hour

Post 12 weeks:
- PAYE: £27.47 per hour
- Umbrella: £36.32 per hour

Please be aware that this position is subject to IR35 regulations, which means that we do not engage with Limited Companies for this role.

Background Requirements:
While prior experience in Rolling Stock is preferred, it is not mandatory. However, having a background in Aerospace, REME (Engineering in the Armed Forces), HGV/Buses, or operating large vehicles is essential.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a minimum of an NVQ Level 3 in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (or an equivalent recognised qualification) to meet the specified criteria. Additionally, a strong knowledge of Microsoft applications is required.

Job Description:
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, your primary responsibilities will encompass servicing, maintaining, and repairing of HVAC units on high profile rolling stock fleet. As an integral member of the team, you will ensure that traction and rolling stock are serviced and maintained in a safe, efficient, and cost-effective manner, with a continuous emphasis on enhancing quality.

What will you be doing?

- Working with experienced colleagues, particularly the estimators/quantity surveyors to assess project scope and viability against which they will develop project costs and support the development of tender content.
- Take the initiative on working on Projects with our experienced Contract and Site Managers to develop operational knowledge of Infrastructure deconstruction.
- Supporting the business in meeting contractual and regulatory requirements.

- Work directly with engineers and operators on the plant and support operational and maintenance activities.

What you'll be doing;

• Compliance with all Veolia and H&S policies and procedures.
  
• Provide site EC&I maintenance support on a days basis.
  
• Safe isolations of electrical and instrumentation equipment.
  
• Overhaul & testing of the site's EC&I equipment
  
• Inspection, testing and service of all site electrical equipment
  
• Fixed wiring defect repair of all site electrical equipment.
  
• Fault diagnosis and resolution of EC&I problems across site.
  
• Calibration of site instrumentation equipment.
  
• Installation & commissioning of minor EC&I projects.
  
• Assist with mechanical breakdowns.
  
• Work with the site team to efficiently resolve repeat problems.
  
• Involvement in health and safety audits and improvements.

What we're looking for;

• Time served as an electrical engineer.
  
• Ideally CompEx 1-4 qualified.
  
• Experienced in fault finding 4-20mA, single and 3 phase systems.
  
• Proficient in process control instruments such as control valves and level sensors.
  
• Good understanding of inverters, PID controllers and SCADA.
  
• Basic mechanical comprehension to assist with breakdowns.

We're recruiting an exciting new position as CCTV Infrastructure Engineer, based from our St Helens Operation Centre, with a requirement to travel to our Centres in the North of the country.

In this role you will be a member of the IT Infrastructure team, reporting to the Infrastructure Manager, liaising with both the UK and US Tech teams, along with external CCTV providers.

You will be responsible for the planning, installation, support and maintenance of all areas of our CCTV Access Control and other Security Systems equipment across a number of sites located across the UK and Ireland.

You may be required to provide out of hours support to ensure that CCTV and the security of our sites is maintained.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Responsible for the design, install, commissioning and maintenance of CCTV based security and fire detection systems
• Support and configuration of associated security hardware/software
• Install and configuration of wired and wireless networks
• You will be required to travel to and work at our various sites across the UK and Ireland, a company van will be provided.
• You should have excellent written and verbal communication and the ability to break down technical terminology into Layman's terms for non-technical colleagues.

What we need from you:

Essential

• Previous experience in CCTV installation, commissioning and maintenance
• Security and cost-conscious CCTV design
• Knowledge of IP networks and CAT5/6 cabling
• Full UK driving licence
• Willing to stay and work away from home
• Excellent troubleshooting skills
• Health and safety and safe working environment knowledge
• The ability to adapt and learn new skills
• A strong team player who can work independently and is self-motivated

Desirable

• Experience of Milestone CCTV systems
• Experience of installing network switches and wireless AP's
• Knowledge of Dahua, Hikvision and other CCTV manufacturers
• Experience of wireless and point to point wireless technology
• Liaison with CCTV monitoring centres
• General Knowledge of all security systems

Your new roleThe main purpose of this role is to deliver a reactive and planned maintenance service covering a 24/7 operation. You will organise on-site rotas for designated buildings across the estate, and ensure all work completed is in line with agreed standards.
Primary duties will involve:
- Manage the technical functions of the estates, including reactive and planned maintenance, M&E repairs
- Manage and supervise on-site contractors
- Oversee the estates and facilities management provision and provide technical insights to contractors
- Support the improvement of estate systems to reduce reactive repairs
- Carry out damage and accident investigations in the built environment
- Provide updates on the maintenance strategy for the senior leadership team

What you'll need to succeed- Hold a recognised building, electrical or mechanical qualification (minimum HNC or NVQ level 4)
