The Company:
My client is one of the UK's largest car interior manufacturers, making products for Jaguar cars like panels and seats.They are seeking a Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis.
They are seeking an engineer to work on their team with experience within Maintenance or a similar work environment.
Reporting in to the maintenance manager, your objective will be to ensure the efficient upkeep of all machinery on site and optimize machinery output and product quality while minimizing plant downtime.
Responsibilities will include:
-Install, repair and maintain all equipment and facilities.
- Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
- Attend breakdowns, identify faults and problem solve with minimum downtime to production.
- Conduct diagnosis of faults and complete maintenance and repairs to all types of plant and equipment in a safe, timely and professional manner.
- Cycle equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended downtime.
- Record operational data e.g pressure readings, length of stroke, feed and speed for use in set-up and preventive maintenance records.
- Review production schedules to optimize when equipment is not scheduled for production in order to perform scheduled maintenance activities.
- Participate in continuous improvement workshops to propose and implement continuous productivity, process and quality improvement actions for all plant, equipment and facilities.
- Provide advice on technical specifications of new equipment and alterations on existing equipment and facilities, ensuring manufacturing, maintainability and Health, Safety & Environmental requirements are met.
- Participate in the management of the inventory of spare parts and consumables to eliminate downtime
- Set up requisitions for supplies, equipment and facilities as required
- Track the ratio of expenses against budget and monitor quality, cost and delivery objectives given to external companies when intervening : subcontracting, ordinary and major maintenance actions, energy, security systems.
- Keep up to date documentation related to maintenance activity
- Train operators on the safe operation of production equipment as required
- Perform a start of shift safety sign-off to ensure that all safety features on assigned equipment are operational.
Requirements:
- Electrical qualifications of Level 3 NVQ.
