JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Pressure vessel and tank design in accordance with ASME Boiler & Pressure vessel Code section II, VIII (Div.1 & 2) and IX, API 650 TEMA, JIS B8265 and JPI.
- Take the vendor’s technical quotation review, clarification and evaluation, leading the kick-off meeting/design review meeting, supporting the pre-inspection meeting, coordinating with other disciplines (Project, Process, Civil, Piping, Electric, Instrument, Transportation, Construction, etc.).
- Prepare Requisition including basic technical requirements, detail design requirements, general documentation requirements, inspection and procedure requirements, etc.
- Evaluate performance of vendor’s design equipment such like plate heat exchangers, filters, drum, etc.
- Review vendor package design including 3D model (Navis Works) and follow up on the required approvals.
- Review / approve vendor documents in line with client / contractor’s requirements.
- Follow up of all engineering issues and close any outstanding issues as promptly as possible.
- Monitor and control vendor’s document submission status. Expedite vendor if any delay.
- Coordination with vendors and global project disciplines for the proper execution of the project.
- Attend project meeting / follow up meeting with vendors, client, third party etc.
- Review thermal rating result of shell & tube heat exchangers in performance point of view.
- Discuss technical issue in design review meeting with vendor to close comments of vendor documents for equipment including package items.
- Assist site team during construction and commissioning stage
- Conduct trouble shooting, investigate root cause, propose countermeasure.
- Assist procurement team as required during the ordering stage.
- Vendor qualification work including check of Design/QAQC/Fabrication capability, vendor’s experience, fabrication sequence & typical schedule, work load, etc.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- More than 5 years of experience as Design Engineer in Pressure Vessel Engineering field in Chemical Plant
- Work experiences at Chemical Plant site in Singapore as field engineer for 6 months and worked for pre-commissioning/progress monitoring for Static equipment and equipment preservation. Communication with vendor supervisor.
- Inspection experience of Static Equipment (Carbon Steel Drum, Stainless Steel Drum and FRP Tank etc.) at vendor’s shop.
- Contribution as a lead engineer for static equipment design for any types of projects such as feasibility study, FEED, EPC and proposal work also.
- Communication with global office engineers.
- Strong engineering knowledge in static equipment for high pressure/temperature, various materials types (carbon steel, stainless steel, duplex stainless steel, etc.), various material constructions (clad/weld overlay/lining/mono-wall/multi-wall), welding including tube-to-tube sheet and dissimilar welding.
- Familiar and aware of collaboration between inter-discipline engineering activities.
- Attendance of 2-weeks Welding Training at Hitachi Zosen Corporation in Kumamoto, Japan, experience of actual welding work (SMAW, SAW, FCAW, TIG) and non-destructive examination for weld joint (PT, MT, UT, RT).
