Highways Engineer

We are currently looking for a Highways Engineer to join our team based in our Ashford, Kent office.

This is a full-time permanent role, hybrid working with 2 - 3 days in the office.

The Role & Key Responsibilities

You will support the engineering design service function of Project Centre in the delivery of highways and transportation projects.

• Assist in the delivery of a range of Transportation & Highway projects relating to preparing drawings and designs (Concept, Preliminary & Detailed Design stages) in accordance with standards & guidelines
• Undertake technical tasks assigned by project managers and senior managers.
• Ensure tasks are delivered within deadline and to a high standard of quality.
• Day to day supervision and management of junior staff and assistant engineers.
• Co-ordination of project delivery where other design teams or service areas are involved.
• Support junior team members (CAD Technicians, Graduates and Apprentices).
• Undertake any duties as and when required to assist in the operations of PCL.

Person Specification

• Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experience
• Proven experience of Highways Design
• Working towards professional membership ICE/CIHT
• Technical knowledge of highways engineering
• Good experience with AutoCAD
