Job Summary

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Staff CPLD Firmware Engineer located in Taiwan Taipei Wugu Site.

What a typical day looks like:

• Skilled FPGA/CPLD Design Engineer with strong capabilities in Server /Storage system- and hardware-level design.
• Responsible for development and integration of CPLD/FPGA that implement functionality on prototypes: spanning from low-level hardware sequence control, logic control & status for embedded systems, to high-speed links, to high level IP blocks, to custom hardware-accelerated algorithms & filters.
• Work closely with Hardware, BIOS, BMC and Firmware team for CPLD/FPGA development.
• Designing validation plan and development spec.
• Debugging platform and systems issues.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• 3-10 years of working experience in Firmware development.
• Familiar in Verilog RTL language. Experienced with CPLD/FPGA development on Lattice, Altera and Xilinx devices.
• Experience with I2C, SPI, LPC, UART, PCIe protocol design
• Experience with verification methodologies, RTL and gate level simulations and debug.
• Good problem solving skills.

Job Summary

The Staff Engineer, FW will be based in Taiwan Taipei Wugu Site. The Staff Engineer, FW performs the responsibility for software design in Power Supply Unit/Power Solution Projects request.

Here is a glimpse of what you’ll do

• The Firmware engineer will work with Battery Management System (BMS) software and hardware circuits, Switching Power supplies (SMPS) software and hardware circuits.

• Candidate will define and develop BMS requirements for software and control algorithms, development, release and execution of test plans and builds.

• Team player, work cross functionally with different teams to verify software meets system needs and requirements.

• Track and troubleshoot issues and test systems on benches, actual systems and on ATE systems.

Here is some of what you’ll need:

• Minimum 5 years of engineering experience in software development for battery systems (BBU, UPS), SMPS, Pure-Sine Inverters and related industries

• Experience with BMS/SMPS software creation, debugging and control algorithms

• Experience with software development tools, debugging tools, test tools creation and diagnostics tools (e.g., scripts, i2c analyzer, python, etc.)

• Experience with software change and update cycle management.

• Experience with electrical circuits used in BMS hardware and in SMPS (Switch-mode power supplies) hardware.

• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

• Problem solving and organizational skills

• Can work beyond normal working hours and work on overseas trips for build support.

To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we’re looking to add a Junior Electrical Design Engineer to work with the sales team located in Kendal, UK.

This role will provide excellent experience in the design and development of electrical switchgear and associated products. We are looking for a graduate level design engineer with an eye for detail who can work independently and as part of a team. Good interpersonal and communication skills are a must, as the successful candidate will work with multiple disciplines during products lifecycle.

What a typical day looks like:

• You will creat Electrical designs of switchboards & associated products ready for Sales / production purposes;
• Liaising with the sales team to understand client specifications and requirements;
• Ensuring drawings issued are controlled, accurate and easy to follow;
• Aiding Sales to resolve problems with new & existing product designs;
• Liaising with 2D & 3D Designers to ensure library is accurate;
• Utilising AutoCAD to add tags to existing drawings;
• You will report to the Central Bids Manager.

The experience we’re looking to add to our team:

• Relevant experience in a switchgear production environment (electrical) will be considered in lieu of a third level qualification;
• Have a solid understanding of electricity fundamentals and electrical circuit design;
• Be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office tools;
• Have a methodical approach to problem solving;
• Understanding of electrical engineering drawings such as single line diagrams and schematics is advantageous.
