The Social Worker is assigned to the West Texas VA Health Care System Patient Aligned Care Team. The Social Worker must use a high level of skill in assessing and treating the complicated psychosocial problems of veterans. Social Work responsibilities include the assessment of psychosocial problems, often at a time when the Veteran is experiencing crisis and include the provision of short-term, solution- focused counseling with veterans and/or their family members/significant others. Referrals typically originate from members of the interdisciplinary team, from Veterans and/or their family members/significant others coming as walk-ins to seek assistance, and from community professionals.

The Social Worker is responsible for the monitoring of, and assisting with discharge planning when necessary for, Veterans assigned to the PACT Team while Veterans are hospitalized in any number of local medical facilities. The Social Worker must complete thorough assessments to determine the presenting problem to determine in- home factors impacting the problem and to determine obstacles to treatment and/or follow through with recommended treatments. Consultation with members of the outpatient interdisciplinary team is provided to coordinate a collaborative effort to meet the agreed upon goals for the Veteran's treatment needs and include liaison with community professionals regarding needed services for veterans and/or their families.

Works with various patient populations that include, but are not limited to, homeless Veterans, Hospice/Palliative Care, Homebound, and Spinal Cord Injury and Disease Veterans. Works with Veterans needing assistance with, but are not limited to, Home Health services, financial resources, VA benefits, Long term care decisions, and transportation services.

Pay: Competitive salary and regular salary increases. When setting pay, a higher step rate of the appropriate grade may be determined after consideration of existing pay, higher or unique qualifications, or special needs of the VA (Above Minimum Rate of the Grade).
Paid Time Off: 37-50 days of annual paid time offer per year (13-26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year)

• Serves as the Assistant Chief of Staff for Intelligence and Security, G2, United States Army Medical Center of Excellence (MEDCoE) with demonstrated mastery of all security programs.
• Serves as the principal advisor on intelligence, threat management, and security, providing recommendations to command leadership.
• Develops, plans, oversees, administers, manages, and enforces an intelligence-related multi-disciplined security program. Establishes policy regarding the Command's Security activities and programs.
• Serves as a technical authority on Installation Defense Threat Working Group, Insider Threat, and OPSEC working groups and review committees to evaluate and formulate policy and provides advice and guidance
• Acquires, analyzes, and interprets intelligence data to access potential security impacts on command operations and mission success.
• Coordinates intelligence and security activities across the command to ensure consistent application of security programs.
• Provides technical guidance and support on intelligence related security matters to enhance decision making and operational effectiveness.

Summary Continued - environmental, security, policy review, and public affairs resource management in support of the mission and the commander's priorities. DUTIES:

• Coordinates the planning and development of complex, high level public affairs assignments in support of commander's programs and priorities.
• Researches, drafts, coordinates, produces, and reviews public affairs products such as news releases, talking points, fact sheets, news and feature articles, web-based content, briefings, speeches and scripts, newsletters, photographs, videos, pod casts, and other materials.
• Represents the office with a variety of installation and local governmental, media, community engagement, service, and educational organizations.
• Assists in the planning, organizing and carrying out the visual information program.

Serves as lead outside attendant with responsibility for assisting with the maintenance program for all sports and recreational facilities assigned to Fitness and Sports. Prepares sports and recreation facilities to specific guidelines in support of the intramural and varsity sports program. Inspects playing area and surface for any potential safety hazards and takes immediate measures to correct. Plans the year round turf maintenance program for outside facilities. Serves as section VCO, overseeing the routine and preventative maintenance program for all vehicles and equipment assigned to outside maintenance. Coordinates with Transportation Squadron to ensure that all scheduled maintenance on appropriated fund equipment is performed on time. Manages and oversees the routine maintenance and up keep of all outside maintenance equipment including but not limited to riding mowers, push mowers, tractors, weed-eaters, edgers, leave blowers and specialty turf maintenance equipment. Checks warranties prior to requesting or performing repairs. Assists the fitness maintenance staff with the repair and maintenance of fitness equipment and indoor sports facilities. Sets up and takes down equipment for sports programs and/or special events. Operate government motor vehicles to pick up and deliver supplies, materials and equipment to fitness and sports work stations. Works under the supervision of the Sports and Fitness Director who makes assignments by defining objectives, priorities and deadlines. Supervisor advises on new or unusual problems that arise and spot checks completed work to see that it meets accepted standards and customer satisfaction. Performs other related duties as assigned.
