Functional Skills Tutor – F/T Permanent Role Gloucester (30 plus hours per week)

Hours per week: Between 30 -34 hours a week.

As a tutor you are at the heart of our delivery, therefore you must possess the ability to motivate students to develop their skills and to reach their full potential and have the passion and empathy for working with young people aged 16 – 19 years of age with different abilities, including young people with additional needs. You will use innovative methods to deliver creative, fun and engaging sessions for maths with a focus on supporting the learners to achieve their qualifications.
This role includes full teaching responsibilities, including developing your own curriculum against standards, planning and preparing sessions and marking work. You will be part of regular team meetings, and we will provide you with professional development opportunities.
Required skills and experience for this FS tutor role:
• L3 (or above) Education and Training teaching qualification
• Assessor Qualification (desirable but not essential)
• Ability to deliver Functional Skills maths entry level to level 2 and GCSE maths and the ability to deliver Functional Skills English entry level to level 2, where required.
• Excellent delivery skills and proficient classroom management
• Excellent communication skills and a good command of the English spoken language
• Excellent coordination and organisational skills
• Excellent time management
• Be Innovative, fast thinking and versatile.
• Self-motivated, able to work to performance targets and KPIs
• Good general level of ICT skills including Microsoft Office
