As an OPERATIONS AND TRAINING SPECIALIST, with the Texas Army National Guard, your duties will include, but will not be limited to:

• Formulates long and short range plans for the development of range facilities and the training areas. Develops input for the MTA's five year range development plan, to include justifications for construction, programing documents, maps, overlays, and sketches. Develops program documents for funding standard target systems and remote engagement target systems identified for use on range facilities programmed in the five year range development plan. Develops other associated programs of construction and budget estimates. Evaluates the size of the facilities to allow for projected use, troop density, and to facilitate types of training required.
• Oversees and directs the work of one or two subordinates assigned to the Operations and Training Division. Assists in development of performance standards, goals; and objectives for subordinate workers. Approves/disapproves leaves. Provides recommendations for incentive awards and training of subordinate workers. Participates in interviews with applicants for subordinate positions and provides recommendations for selection. Provides technical guidance to lower graded workers. Assists in resolving complaints and grievances from employees which can be informally resolved. Promotes acceptance and adherence of programs such as Equal Employment Opportunity, Federal Womens Program, Physically Handicapped, Labor Management Relations and other special emphasis programs. Assists in maintaining an effective position management program.
• Coordinates with user organizations for use of the ranges and training facilities. Reviews and approves schedules to insure maximum training opportunities. Coordinates with using organizations to assist in obtaining support if not available at MTA, with units having requested support capabilities.
• Prepares budget requirements for submission to support manday, training, schools and travel for the Operations and Training Division.
• Conducts surveys of users to assess adequacy of existing facilities to meet training requirements, and reviews the installation five year plan to ensure it meets existing and future requirements. As the primary point of contact within the Directorate of Plans, Training, and Mobilization for training facilities, reviews training project proposals and recommends to the Operations and Plans Officer approval, disapproval, or modifications.
• Reviews plans, specifications, architectural and engineering documents for range facilities to assure conformity with doctrine and for compliance with DA range safety criteria.
• Reviews plans for army aviation, airborne, and NBC Training conducted at the MTA to assure compliance with established safety and local operational procedures: When required, recommends alternatives to best meet training objectives within safety parameters.
• Develops installation policies and regulations governing range safety, training, medical evacuation and other emergency procedures. Reviews and updates these documents when required. Advises tenant organizations of pertinent MTA policy and requirements.
• Based on projected availability of the latest simulation devices, determines and recommends suitable facilities for use as simulation centers. Coordinates, with the supervisor, plans and specifications for the modification of existing or the construction of new facilities for simulation centers.
• Develops guidelines for the preparation of training programs for personnel and elements assigned or attached to the MTA or installation support unit (ISU). Oversees the processing of applications for service schools and formal technician courses.
• Formulates policies and procedures for the control of classified material, restricted areas and communications security. Monitors the status of personnel security clearance requests and investigations. Develops intelligence, counter-intelligence, and operational security plans for the MTA. Serves as the authority at the training site regarding classified material and security.
• Develops standing operating procedures (SOP) for and directs the activities of the installation Emergency Operations Center (EOC) during state domestic or national emergencies.
• Develops plans and procedures for the overall communications requirements for range and field training operations. Evaluates internal communications, staffing, equipment and facilities requirements. Coordinates additional commercial communications requirements with the MTA administrative and budget offices. Directs actor: to improve effectiveness in tactical communications systems and operations. Advises and coordinates with commanders and staff officers of using units on communications matters.

• Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the 737th Training Support Squadron. Develops goals and objectives that integrate organization and flight/section objectives.
• Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Directs, coordinates, and oversees work through subordinate supervisors.
• Represents 737th Training Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and other related civilian organizations regarding services provided.

Exercise considerable independence in performing recruitment and placement tasks involved in filing a variety of lower-grade clerical, administrative, technician and semi-skilled wage grade positions.

Prepares correspondence, memoranda, and one-time reports on a variety of recruitment placement activities such as strength figures, vacancy reports, and status reports, based upon data gleaned from official files and automated records,.

Maintain systems for and assists specialists in determining if DoD Priority Placement Program (PPP), local priority placement program and other special hiring programs, such as military spouse priority program and programs having special hiring authorities (e.g., Student Temporary Employment Program and Student Educational Employment Program) are appropriate in filling vacant positions.

Participate with higher-graded employees in composing handouts and training materials for New Employee Orientation sessions and training programs.

Use word-processing software to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print forms, memos, and letters; use existing database or spreadsheet software to create, enter, revise, sort or calculate, and retrieve data for reports; and use graphic software to provide graphs and charts for reports and presentations.

Plans, coordinates, and manages all administrative, operational, and fiscal aspects of Fitness Center facility as assigned by the Fitness and Sports director. Performs all personnel management functions for assigned facility. Assists with the management of all aspects of the base adult fitness program to include all core fitness activities, enhanced programs and instructor contracts. Establishes an annual fitness plan for all training, fitness classes, incentive programs, and special events. Oversees all fitness contracts and ensures payments are made in accordance with the contract and Air Force guidance. Manages all core activity offerings and schedules and periodically reviews programs to ensure activities are meeting AFI requirements and customer needs. Ensures all activities adhere to safe exercise principles. Assists with the management of the Fitness Improvement Programs (FIP) in coordination with the Health and Wellness Center (HAWC). • Plans organizes and directs the activities for the training wing safety office ensuring that the safety program complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs

Establish learning environment conducive to adult ESL/EFL/ESP learning and to ESL/EFL teacher training. Provide appropriate physical learning environment by ensuring room is orderly and professional in appearance.

Teach ESL/EFL/ESP from basic elementary to advanced English to include: preparation for graduate level college courses; preparation for U.S. war colleges; over 24 specialty areas such as aviation, medical, explosive ordnance disposal; and both basic instructor development (train-the-trainer) and advanced instructor development and management of ESL courses.

Duties include but not limited to the following:

• Troubleshoots problems with Education Training Software and inputs and assigns user access and provides training to users as instructed.

The primary purpose of this position is to provide general office and to assist management in implementing program, publicity and marketing of library services. Shelves books, magazines, and other library materials ensuring all materials are re-shelved in correct order. Reviews the library collection to ensure library materials are maintained in correct order in their assigned areas. Checks condition of books in designated areas, removes obsolete/damaged materials for review by a librarian, and performs minor mending. Processes new, rebound, and reconditioned library materials for circulation and reference according to established procedures. Assists with annual inventory of collection. Duties
1. This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19.
2. Performs hazard and risk assessment and conducts a complete incident analysis. Drives and operates firefighting vehicles, such as pumpers, aerial ladder trucks, and Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicles.
3. Performs crash-rescue and firefighting duties involving air traffic or support operations where hazardous conditions are such that the expectancy for fire is high and potential for becoming destructive is great.
4. Performs structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities, which may include large multistoried buildings, industrial areas, and/or base storage facilities.
