Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (GHNHSFT) is an NHS England pilot site for the enhance programme. The enhance programme recognises the need for healthcare professionals to develop a range of generalist skills, in order to better meet patient need and improve the health of local populations. Clinicians with generalist skills are confident at managing complex care within multi-professional teams, and can work across community, primary and secondary healthcare settings in order to provide person-centred care for a broad range of health conditions. By developing a holistic approach to the health and wellbeing of both individuals and local populations, clinicians of all disciplines can help to improve patient experience and the quality of healthcare. Our Programme is free, part-tine, multi-professional and inclusive. Teaching sessions are all face to face at either Sandford Education Centre, Cheltenham or Redwood Education Centre, Gloucester, or for Dip-in Days at external venues. They include talks, workshops, lived experience interviews, case studies and Schwartz rounds, with the opportunity to interact with Third sector and community partners. Supporting our PGME International Medical Graduate (IMG) Tutor with Local and South-West communications representing all IMGs here at GHNHSFT. Strategically responsible for sourcing appropriate accommodation for all Surgical and Medical Training Days, for both Trust and South-West colleagues held at GHNHSFT, along with suggesting, having discussed with PGME Colleagues, appropriate external accommodation, should this be requested by the Medical Fellow/Tutors. Work with the Medical Fellows in sourcing the correct equipment that may be required, whilst being the enquiry point for any queries/questions. To help out in the Education Centres when Internal/External/Trust major events are hosted.

Mechanical Design Engineer

Full-time, permanent

Opportunity:

As Mechanical Design Engineer you will be bringing customers automation aspirations to life. Working across a variety of industry sectors (predominantly food & beverage and plastic container handling), you will be designing special purpose machinery and working on some truly ground-breaking projects from scratch. These projects range from solutions as a single unit but more often as part of larger / complete turnkey automation solution.

Mechanical Design Engineer Responsibilities:


* Project management incorporating ownership from concept, through design and build to customer sign off.
* Design and development of new and existing components/products incorporating conceptual design and conceptualizing new automation solutions.
* Detailing existing designs, site layout design and associated BoMs.

You:


* Suitably qualified (mechanical engineering degree or equivalent preferred) and/or 3+ years practical experience (preferably with special purpose machinery), with a solid understanding of manufacturing and its processes.
* Working in 3D primarily (Auto Desk Inventor preferred).
* Confident to work on own initiative, but equally to collaboration as part of a wider team.
* Confident in liaising with clients.
* A keen eye for detail and able to work to strict timescales.
* Own driving licence required due to site not being covered by public transport.
* Ability to travel when required (domestically/ internationally).
* UK/EU passport holder.

Requirements
