The directorate is responsible for the delivery of services across all education establishments, child-care, and criminal justice services. This allows strong and collective planning to take place giving all our children and young people the best possible chances to succeed.
We are recruiting a dynamic, innovative and motivated Head of Education with a belief that they can make a significant impact in improving outcomes for our children and young people.
You will work alongside the Director of Children’s Services, the Chief Social Work Officer and the Head of Education, Learning Estate and Resources and will hold strategic responsibility for the effective delivery of education services in approximately half of Renfrewshire’s schools and establishments, from early years to secondary. The postholder will lead on raising attainment across the service and lead on improving outcomes for all our learners with specific responsibility for children and young people with additional support needs.
Furthermore, you will be able to influence the continual improvement across all sectors of education provision as you will oversee the effective delivery of education across half of Renfrewshire’s schools and centres.
It is essential that you possess a relevant degree or professional qualification and/or Member of Professional Institution/Association e.g., GTCS
You must also be able to demonstrate a record of achievement at senior management level in an education environment. A thorough knowledge and understanding of legislation relating to education is also essential, together with extensive and proven experience in strategic policy development and implementation; the development and management of strategic partnerships and service improvement.
