About the Role:

This internship offers an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in grant research, proposal development, and project coordination. You’ll work closely with the team to identify funding opportunities, manage application processes, and support clients in achieving their business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Grant and Awards Research: Identify and track funding and business award opportunities suitable for various industries.
• Proposal Development: Assist in creating tailored grant proposals in collaboration with the account management team.
• Application Management: Monitor application statuses, report outcomes, and maintain clear communication with stakeholders.
• Traineeship Coordination: Work with external providers to organise traineeship programs and complete related administrative tasks.
• Calendar Management: Maintain a centralised schedule of opportunities and ensure timely updates for stakeholders.
• Reporting and Admin Support: Prepare reports on grant activities and support the team with general administrative tasks.

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Business, or a related field.
• Finance or Economics background is preferred. 
• Strong research and analytical skills.

Responsibilities:

• Allocate Learning Center training room resources efficiently by addressing incoming requests.
• Oversee all aspects of day-to-day events, including preparing training rooms, setting-up of Audio Visual (AV) equipment (For hybrid meetings) and ensuring high-quality service for clients and participants.
• Set up and arrange training rooms to accommodate the specific needs of different events.
• Communicate with internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on event requirements and expectations, coordinating logistics.
• Coordinate with external food & beverage and transportation vendors for events hosted at the Learning Center, ensuring seamless delivery and client satisfaction.
• Assist in the logistics and execution of training programs and events, including hotel bookings, visa invitations, transportation, and technical setup as required.
• Manage pantry supplies and stationary inventory, ordering, monitoring and replenishing to maintain the smooth operation of the Learning Center.
• Ensure cleanliness and functionality of Learning Center facilities, upholding high standards of presentation to provide a conducive learning environment.
• Provide exceptional customer service by supporting clients and participants, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned.

Requirements:

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Higher Nitec in Event Management, Business Management, Hospitality and Tourism Management, or a related field.
• Comfortable with physical tasks (arrangement of tables & chairs) and capable of managing food & beverage arrangements.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Good communication skills, actively listening to understand internal and external stakeholders and embracing a collaborative approach
• Meticulous attention to detail in logistics, room setup, and inventory management.
• Good customer service skills, promptly addressing inquiries.

We are looking for an Operations Research Intern to join our team in one of today’s most exciting technologies. This role will report to our Director, Supply Chain and based on-site.

Location: This position will be based in San, Jose, California

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Data Analytics:  

  o    Assist in analyzing diverse sets of imperfect data and finding common patterns, themes, and trends 

• Operations Research: 

  o    Work with scheduling/strategy optimization and stochastic modeling  

• Process Improvement:
  o    Work closely with senior engineers to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality improvement 

Skills and Experience:

• Pursuing a Master's or Ph.D. Degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or similar. And successfully maintaining an above average GPA, preferably 3.0 or higher

• Familiarity with systems modeling and network design problems  

• Strong background in optimization & data analysis techniques  

• Proficient with Python/R/Java/Matlab or similar language – (Prefer Python)  

  o    Must have strong background in Excel (Pivot Tables, lookup functions, etc.) 

  o    Experience with AMPL or similar modeling language preferred 

• Experience with algorithm development and implementation 

• Past coursework may include: 

  o    Systems Engineering 

  o    Operations Research 

  o    Logistics and Supply Chain Management 

  o    Stochastic Modeling 

  o    Transportation Systems 

  o    Linear Programming 

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for interpreting data 

• Must have good verbal, written, and communication skills

• This internship is scheduled to begin June 2024 and end on approximately August 2024.
