The Training and Development Manager will be responsible for the provision of professional training, including PMVA. They will lead a small team of trainers, undertaking and coordinating training needs analysis, maintaining accurate records and fully documenting relevant syllabus, training schedules, lesson plans and ensuring an auditable rationale is available for everything that we do. You will ensure training materials are reviewed and developed to uphold and promote a recovery focused approach and will draw upon their own lived experience when producing and delivering training. The Training and Development Manager will promote positive understanding, awareness, and attitudes towards mental and physical health as part of day-to-day duties. They will ensure a psychologically safe environment for the staff attending training, providing emotional support to staff who may express/exhibit emotional or psychological distress pre and post training as well during training. You will assist in signposting individuals who may require immediate support outside of the training environment and escalate any issues that may affect the efficient delivery of the training along with identifying and addressing additional learning support needs that learners may have to enable them to access and complete courses. It is expected that the Training and Development Manager will maintain a database of potential learners and attendees for the courses as well as capturing and reporting course feedback and key learnings. Business development is an important part of the role, identifying opportunities to extend the training provision and portfolio to the Trust and other NHS Trusts. The core function is to deliver PMVA related training, but appropriate and related schemes will be developed to support QEF and the Trusts staff. The role will also require the post holder to have an input into relevant policy and developing new training programmes in response to changes in policy. You may have contact with patients or service users. South Thames Colleges Group are now looking for an Inclusive Learning Manager to ensure inclusive support arrangements are managed effectively for all learners, including those that do not receive high needs funding.

You will support the Head of Inclusive Learning in managing the overall Inclusive Learning Service to meet the College’s Strategic and Operational objectives. You will lead, develop, and manage a high-quality, cost-effective admissions and support service for learners requiring Additional Needs and work in partnership with Specialist Services, both internally and externally alongside curriculum colleagues to ensure support is of a consistent high standard. You will lead, develop and manage the implementation of relevant legislation in relation to young people at College and manage assessment of learners for inclusive support requirements, including Maths and English access arrangements.

We’d like our Inclusive Learning Manager to have a successful and proven track record in managing support services for learners with sensory impairments, social & emotional, mental health issues, physical disabilities, and medical conditions, enhancing students’ success, including detailed knowledge of the EHCP process. You will have a successful record of leading and managing staff and have a track record in delivering staff development training and other identifiable personal achievements.

You will have good working knowledge of relevant legislation such as the Equality Act 2010, Children & Families Act 2014 and SEND Code of Practice and the implications for the Learning Support Service. You will have experience in managing support funding and budgets, leading and managing staff and of implementing and developing quality systems that result in improved outcomes.

The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that is due to be implemented imminently.

Lifelong Learning Library Adviser
Direct Services/Mobile Library Service (Based at Oxgangs Library)

Salary: £25,322 - £27,727
Hours: 36 per week (Monday to Friday only but will require some evening working)

No Saturday Working.

Direct Services/ Mobile Library Team is based at Oxgangs Library. The Mobile Library team deliver library services out with library locations e.g. to schools, customers' homes, care homes and Assisted Living Accommodation, postholders must be able to work in a variety of non-library environments and support customers with additional needs.

This role involves a degree of continual manual handing of boxes and trolley’s where we take boxes and trolleys of books into schools and Care Homes, loading theses on and off vehicles. We do this in all weather conditions – appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) will be supplied. The job also involves being able to work at low heights and climbing in and out of vehicle cabs.

A Full Driving Licence is required: The successful candidate will be required to drive the Mobile Library Vehicles - up to 7.5 tonne LGV's, this requires a C or C1 on your licence. If you do not have a C or C1 on your licence successful permanent appointments will be given professional driver training to the required standard.

The core duty of this position is to conduct histopathological examinations of tissues and provide interpretation and diagnostic advice that is tailored to the British livestock production context. Other duties include providing advice and contributing to the generation of surveillance data and intelligence, contributing to research projects on diseases of British livestock and wildlife species and disseminating knowledge through publications and presentations.
