Protocol Education is recruiting on behalf of a reputable Secondary School seeking a qualified ICT Teacher to join their dedicated team. Key Responsibilities:
Teach Computer Science and ICT across KS3, KS4, and possibly KS5, delivering engaging lessons in both theoretical and practical aspects of the curriculum.
Lesson Planning and Delivery: plan and deliver high-quality, interactive lessons that promote critical thinking and creativity, ensuring students achieve their best outcomes.
Assessment and Feedback: provide regular feedback to students, assessing their progress through marking assignments, tests, and other assessments.
Classroom Management: maintain a positive and disciplined classroom environment, ensuring students are on task and adhering to school rules.
Collaborate with Staff: work closely with other departments to develop cross-curricular initiatives and ensure consistency in student progress.
Stay Current with Technology Trends: keep up to date with the latest developments in the ICT and Computer Science fields, incorporating new technologies and teaching methods into your lessons.
Support Students: provide guidance and support to students with varying levels of ability, adapting teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles.
The Ideal Candidate:
- A Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), or equivalent teaching qualification.
- A Degree in Computer Science, ICT, or a related subject (essential).
- PGCE or other recognised teaching qualification (preferred).
- Strong understanding of the National Curriculum for ICT and Computer Science.
Skills and Experience:
- Experience teaching Computer Science and ICT in a Secondary School setting, ideally at KS3, KS4, and KS5.
- A deep understanding of programming languages (such as Python, Java, or C++), databases, and networking.
- Experience with educational technology and the use of software tools in the classroom to enhance learning (e.g. , coding platforms, online learning tools).
- Strong classroom management skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Ability to differentiate lessons to meet the needs of a wide range of learners, including those with additional learning needs.
- Excellent communication skills-both written and verbal-with the ability to engage students and work collaboratively with staff.
