Job Title: Learning Support Assistant - Complex Autism

The ideal candidate will have experience working with a range of SEND, has a high level of autonomy, as well as an ability to adapt. The school has ages ranging from 2 - 19-year-old with a diverse range of special educational needs. The successful candidate will have:

- Specialised training or working experience in autism education is highly desirable.

Prospero Teaching are looking for enthusiastic and experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to inspire and support pupils in one of our excellent Primary Schools in Durham. The role is to start in ASAP (from January 2024) and will involve working across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 classes.

The role will involve working with pupils with varied SEN and challenging behaviour, so the successful candidate will need to be a resilient practitioner and have excellent relationship-building skills.

The school have both full-time and part-time roles available. For the right candidate, there is the strong possibility of the role becoming permanent. The hours of work for the role will be 08.30-16.00.

The role will involve supporting the pupils with their learning and communicating effectively with Class Teachers to ensure appropriate strategies are used that are suited to the individual needs and learning styles of the pupils to allow them to engage with their learning and make excellent progress.
