Medical Needs Support Assistant (Full-Time) - Personal Care & Tube Feeding

We are seeking a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team in Cardiff. In this full-time role, you will play a key part in supporting students with diverse needs, ensuring they thrive within an inclusive learning environment.
- Provide one-to-one and group support for students with additional learning needs.
- Assist with personal care tasks, including toileting and feeding.
- Administer tube feeding in line with care plans and guidance.
- Support students with mobility and transfers using manual handling techniques, ensuring safety and dignity.
- Implement personalised learning strategies to promote independence and confidence.
- Assist teaching staff with classroom activities, adapting learning materials when necessary.
- Monitor and report on student progress, behaviour, and wellbeing.
- Previous experience in providing personal care and tube feeding.
- Manual handling training with the ability to assist with student mobility.
- A caring, patient attitude and a passion for supporting children with additional needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
- Experience in an educational setting or working with young people with special educational needs (SEN).
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Health and Social Care or Education Support (desirable but not essential).
- First Aid certification (or willingness to undertake training).
- Manual Handling Training.
You will be working within a friendly secondary school in Cardiff, supporting students aged 11 to 15 in Key Stage 3 with additional needs. The school offers a welcoming atmosphere, a large onsite car park, and a supportive staff team. Training opportunities will be provided on inset days, ensuring you become a valued member of the school community for the academic year.

All quoted pay rates include 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This position is temporary, with the possibility of becoming permanent.
