The role of the paediatric research nurse is to: Provide specialist research and clinical care to research participants. Assist in the management, coordination and implementation of research programmes in accordance with the International Conference on Harmonisation/ Good Clinical Practice (ICH/GCP) and the UK Policy Framework in Health and Social Care Provide clinical supervision to other staff and students. There is no set shift rotation but the majority of the time you will work Monday to Friday 8-4 pm; however we expect that you will also work a variety of flexible hours including long days, nights, and weekends on an ad-hoc basis as per your research study requirements. The post holder will be a car driver, with a full driving license and must be willing to travel to various locations in and around Hampshire and Dorset. The CRF has adult and paediatric ward beds plus consulting rooms, a physiology lab, a temperature-humidity controlled room and a bronchoscopy suite. The majority of research patients come from the Wessex region however the CRF is a national dosing centre for advanced therapy medication so patients come from all over the country for this treatment. The CRF is award-winning with many of our nurses winning posters at national and international conferences, and winning prizes in national competitions in pharmacology and nursing. General administration To update relevant systems to reflect completed competencies from eLearning completion. Be the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to Leadership and Organisational Development, whether in person, by phone or via email, using discretion on the redirection of learners where necessary and providing advice where appropriate. Ensure that those who make contact with the L&OD team experience excellent customer service and receive prompt and efficient response to their enquiries. Supporting staff using relevant learning systems, for example by helping with log in or navigation issues. Gynaecology The department is an accredited Endometriosis Centre and a recognized Centre of excellence for both undergraduate and postgraduate education. There is also a strong reputation in numerous areas such Urogynaecology, Gynae-oncology, Fetal Medicine, Ambulatory Gynaecology. The department operates a diverse gynaecological service. Emergency gynaecology services and the early pregnancy unit are supervised through the on-call Gynaecologist as well as the Gynaecologist of the Morning.Clinical responsibilities shall predominantly support the delivery of outpatient clinics, elective and day case theatre sessions. Obstetrics There are approximately 6800 deliveries across both hospital sites. The Caesarean section rate is approximately 30% and the induction rate is 29%. Epidurals were used by 24% of patients in labour and the uncorrected perinatal mortality rate was 11.1. There were 35,391 scans performed for the period January 2016 to December 2016 and approximately 169 amniocentesis performed.
