The Training and Development Manager will be responsible for the provision of professional training, including PMVA. They will lead a small team of trainers, undertaking and coordinating training needs analysis, maintaining accurate records and fully documenting relevant syllabus, training schedules, lesson plans and ensuring an auditable rationale is available for everything that we do. You will ensure training materials are reviewed and developed to uphold and promote a recovery focused approach and will draw upon their own lived experience when producing and delivering training. The Training and Development Manager will promote positive understanding, awareness, and attitudes towards mental and physical health as part of day-to-day duties. They will ensure a psychologically safe environment for the staff attending training, providing emotional support to staff who may express/exhibit emotional or psychological distress pre and post training as well during training. You will assist in signposting individuals who may require immediate support outside of the training environment and escalate any issues that may affect the efficient delivery of the training along with identifying and addressing additional learning support needs that learners may have to enable them to access and complete courses. It is expected that the Training and Development Manager will maintain a database of potential learners and attendees for the courses as well as capturing and reporting course feedback and key learnings. Business development is an important part of the role, identifying opportunities to extend the training provision and portfolio to the Trust and other NHS Trusts. The core function is to deliver PMVA related training, but appropriate and related schemes will be developed to support QEF and the Trusts staff. The role will also require the post holder to have an input into relevant policy and developing new training programmes in response to changes in policy. Communications and Engagement Deliver learning using a variety of styles and methodologies, adapted to the needs of the learners, to stimulate and sustain learner motivation and engagement. Plan and prepare teaching plans and materials for work-based courses ensuring high quality of content, delivery and methodology whilst fostering a positive and supportive learning environment. Travel throughout the trust will be required and the post holder will be expected to undertake training across the region as required by the needs of the business. There will be evening and week-end work requirements depending on operational demand. Maintain a required level of teaching and assessment to meet the requirements of IQA. Respond at trained level and in line with Scope of Practice to emergency call while not delivering training as able. Analytical and Judgement To provide the Education and Training Manager with regular reports on training activity, including issues and risks. To monitor training attendance of volunteers within their designated region(s) and provide development action plans as required. People and Finance Managing complex and sensitive issues raised by delegates to avoid negative impact on their training. Work with the Community Response Manager to ensure relevant and correct training and information is passed to CFRs. Strategic and Service Development To maintain current knowledge relevant to community training programmes, policies, and legislation. Propose suggested amendments to policy and/or practice to line manager. Assist with the development of new training programmes to respond to new Trust requirements and changes to policies. Leadership and Management When acting as Course Lead, ensure compliance, safety and success delivery for learners and tutors. Coordinate the training of a group of volunteer trainers and assist them in deliver training to CFRs. Perform annual quality checks on volunteer trainers during one of their training sessions. To positively promote an environment that incorporates a culture of equality and diversity. To be responsible for the QA and supervising of the volunteer trainers for the quality of monthly training.

Job summary This post brings an exciting opportunity to lead, with support, the day-to-day execution of a vanguard Hi Lab programme: TRICORDER-PLUS. This is the UK's first study applying a point-of-care artificial intelligence technology for triple cardiovascular disease to high-risk primary care cohorts across several UK geographies. TRICORDER-PLUS is designed as a precursor study to underpin a national screening programme. This work is principally funded by the British Heart Foundation and delivered by Hi Lab in close and unprecedented collaboration with NHS Integrated Care Systems, the National Screening Committee, industry collaborators, and the Pumping Marvellous patient charity. Duties and responsibilities Planning, implementation, and evaluation of TRICORDER-PLUS, in addition to immersing themselves in Hi Lab's wider portfolio. Collaboration with other Hi Lab team members and a diverse set of stakeholders across clinical/NHS, governance/regulatory, industry collaborator(s), and patient organisations. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to: Study governance; setting up research protocol, securing Health Research Authority approval (ethics approval); data protection office approvals Site initiation visits (travel); training primary care teams in the use of digital stethoscope technology and use of AI-guided clinical pathway execution. Hi Lab operates out of Imperial's White City Innovation District, where the appointed fellow will be based, but TRICORDER-PLUS encompasses NHS Integrated Care Systems in the North Thames geography and South West England. There will be scope for incorporating the implementation of technology-emabled pathway(s) in the Fellow's preferred sub-speciality to underpin registering with Imperial for a MD(Res)/PhD degree, or post-doctoral research.
