The Workforce, Training and Education (WT&E) Directorate provides leadership for the education and training system. It ensures that the shape and skills of the future health and public health workforce evolve to sustain high quality outcomes for patients in the face of demographic and technological change. WT&E ensures that the workforce has the right skills, behaviours, and training, and is available in the right numbers, to support the delivery of excellent healthcare and drive improvements through supporting healthcare providers and clinicians to take greater responsibility for planning and commissioning education and training.
We have a number of exciting career opportunities within WT&E – South East Region within the Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education Team. We are looking for highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals with excellent administrative and organisational skills to be part of a team that administers our Postgraduate doctors and dentists in training support and education activities across the region.
The Education Programme Coordinator works with the Education Programme Manager and the Education Programme Officer in the local office to support the operational delivery of medical and dental education programmes including national recruitment, programme management, finance, and project management and to implement successful delivery of assessments, rotations, Out of Programme (OOP), Interdeanery Transfers (IDT), Less than Full Time Training (LTFT) throughout a trainee’s journey. They will apply locally defined processes whilst following the national policy and process.

WT&E – South East Region, Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education Team is responsible for the planning, development, education, and training of the healthcare and public health workforce across Kent, Surrey, Sussex, Thames Valley, Hampshire, Dorset, Isle of Wight, and Salisbury. We also provide medical training for the States of Jersey for doctors in Foundation and General Practice.
