Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response (EPRR) is a core function of the NHS and is a statutory requirement of the Civil Contingencies Act (CCA) 2004. Responding to emergencies is a key requirement within the NHS Act (2006). The team has responsibility for all NHS England commercial activity for 3rd party spend, across all areas of the commercial lifecycle including Market Management, Commercial Strategy, Procurement, Contract Management and Strategic Supplier Relationship Management. An exciting opportunity has arisen in the London Regional team within NHS England for a Chief Nurse. This is a key leadership role in the regional health system, with responsibility, in conjunction with other leaders from across the professional spectrum, for delivery of high-quality nursing and midwifery services for the region’s population, in line with NHS and other governmental priorities.

About you

Some of the key skills and experience you'll bring to the role:
• Driven, highly motivated individual with extensive experience of managing a range of commercial lifecycle activities, ideally from within the public sector.

Reporting to the Head of Hard FM, you will provide technical advice to support operational safety and drive the development of technical guidance.

Responsible for safety regulations and legislation, your focus will be on critical aspects of patient safety and improvement; supporting the delivery of the recommendations of the Lord Carter and Sir Robert Naylor reviews.
