DUTIES:

• Performs as the lead instructional designer for EPME curricula.
• Develops, reviews, and revises core curriculum and makes recommendations of learning objectives, course content, methodology, textbook design, evaluation instruments, editing and production and other related aspects of curriculum development.

1. This position will support the Federal Government's response efforts to COVID-19. Leads a crew of three or more firefighters, including at least one firefighter (GS-07 or military equivalent) assigned to man a major piece of motorized firefighting equipment such as a pumper, aerial ladder truck, or Airport Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) vehicle in firefighting and rescue operations.

2. Directs firefighting crew in the operation of firefighting vehicles and equipment.

3. Directs assigned crew in the performance of crash/rescue and firefighting duties at airfields handling complex (e.g., bombers, cargo, and passenger) aircraft; the performance of structural firefighting duties for a variety of facilities which may include research and/or large industrial complexes; and the performance of hazardous material (HAZMAT) containment and control and/or Basic Life Support duties.

4. Leads assigned crew and performs emergency rescue of personnel and a variety of first aid measures to alleviate further injury and prepare the victim(s) for transport to a medical facility.

5. Assigns crew members to perform maintenance of firefighting equipment and fire station facilities. Complies with health, safety, and environmental rules and procedures and performs work in a manner that enhances the safety of the work environment.

• Provides support to management in planning, organizing, and overseeing the activities of the Force Support Squadron (FSS). Manages goals and objectives that integrate organizational and flight objectives. Establishes, revises, or reviews policies, procedures, mission objectives, and organization design for the staff, as necessary to eliminate work problems or barriers to mission accomplishment, promote team building, implement quality improvements, or in response to concerns with regulatory compliance and/or customer requirements.
• Represents the Force Support Squadron with a variety of installation and functional area organizations. Establishes, develops, and maintains effective working relationships with other base organizations, senior leadership, representatives from other military services, Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, and other related civilian organizations regarding services provided.

As an Assistant Chief of Operations on a 24-hour duty shift, participates in the administration and planning of a comprehensive fire prevention and firefighting and rescue program of a sufficient magnitude at the installation. Responsible for planning, developing, implementing, reviewing, and evaluating the program.

3. Serves as the on-scene commander of a fire/crash scene until relieved by the Fire Chief or Deputy Fire Chief. Determines the best course of action to minimize loss or damage from fires or explosions.

4. Supervises fire alarm communication center operations to ensure all firefighting equipment and personnel are dispatched as required. Ensures that the communications center is manned at all times during the shift.

Summary: The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to Squadron Officer School (SOS) while managing, maintaining and executing delivery of SOSs curriculum, overseeing instructor preparation and delivery, conducting relevant research, and teaching in Air University educational programs.

Duties:

• Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of Squadron Officer School Academic Affairs (SOS/DE), ensuring that officer professional military education (PME) and faculty development comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.

• When the Squadron Officer School (SOS) Dean is unavailable, represents SOS with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
• The Assistant Dean helps to coordinate development, administration, guidance, implementation, and oversight of new and existing academic programs and academic affairs for SOS: Leads, organizes and oversees SOS's Department of Academic Affairs by ensuring personnel are properly trained and developed, while managing curriculum processes to ensure timely delivery of accurate information to achieve SOS program outcomes.

Eaker Center for Professional Development (Eaker Center), under the direct supervision of the Eaker Center Commander. As the key senior civilian leader on education and curriculum matters overall, for Eaker Center. This position provides historical continuity and expertise for long- and short-term curriculum development for officer, enlisted, and civilian professional continuing education (PCE) programs for the entire Air Force, to include oversight of any degree-granting activities. This position is responsible to Eaker Center, Air University (AU) and Air Force senior leadership for determining if the Eaker Center programs are meeting course mission and goals as directed by appropriate USAF authority. This position also serves as the educational expert on behalf of the Eaker Center and a resource to other professional military organizations within AU as well as other AF and DoD and civilian organizations on educational policy, methodology, evaluation, and related matters.

1. Plans, organizes, and directs the activities of The Judge Advocate General's School, Mission Support Division, ensuring that the administrative and logistical support of the school complies with legal and regulatory requirements and meets customer needs.
