A*SRL/SRIS is looking for a Manager to lead business development, manage relationships between A*SRL/SRIS and its key partners as well as support the institute’s overall Research and Innovation goals.
The key role and responsibilities include:
· Identifying and attracting new strategic industry partners
· Support existing research collaboration relationships
· Partner with Principal Investigators (PIs) and their teams in their interactions with industry
· Assist with identifying collaborative project aims, deliverables, budgets and timelines
· Provide guidance and advice on intellectual property rights and usage
· Review agreements and lead the negotiation of legal arrangements for academic and industry projects in consultation with A*STAR Legal, Innovation & Enterprise HQ A*STAR and BMRC Clusters
The candidate shall also oversee the accounts management function and operate as the lead point of contact between A*SRL/SRIS and strategic and key partners of the institute. He/she will build and maintain close and harmonious customer relationships with strategic and key SRIS partners. The role requires coordination with the Principal Investigators, administration team and A*STAR HQ functions to ensure seamless partnership with existing and new strategic partners.
The candidate will handle the review of contracts, coordinate the smooth execution of projects, and complete project deliverables in a timely manner. He/she will develop ideas and suggestions to enhance the opportunities to achieve the overall R&I objectives of the institute.
Requirements
· Doctorate degree (Ph.D.) in Life Sciences, Bioengineering, Biotechnology, or related fields. Experience and/or strong technical knowledge in Skin Biology/PharmBio is an advantage
· At least more than 8 years of relevant experience
Prior experience managing multiple complex projects
· Prior experience managing multiple high-valued non-academic/industry partners; candidates with experience working in related industry sectors would have an advantage
· Excellent communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills, experience with contracts review is advantageous
· Excellent organizational skills
· Able to work independently and as a team in a fast-paced environment
· Able to complete quality work within tight deadlines
· Detailed-oriented and able to manage KPIs (key performance indicators) tracking for the Business Development team using the Customer Relationship Management system, competent with Excel/Powerpoint for database management and presentations, well organized and resourceful
· Positive learning attitude with a pleasant personality
